Someone gimme a quick run through what it feels like to have heartburn. I am having chest pains these days - left side, where one’d expect their heart to be. I don’t know if it’s heartburn/high cholestorol/somet worse. IT’s sharp twinges every now and then and sometimes it’s across my chest And insane as it sounds laughing can often be painful coz my i get this huge shooting pain.
Secondly, coughing. I’ve been ill for three weeks now and going to docs just makes me cry. I’m fine all day yet as soon as i hit the sack i can not stop coughing.
Like i said i don’t have time or enthusiasm to get up at 8am for the docs on a day off so i haven’t had myself checked over…guide me
I had somewhat similar symptoms and I thought I was gonna die in a week or two. I didn't have shooting pains. Just lil ones. I went to a heart specialist. He made me run on a treadmill with all kinds of wires taped to my body. It's called a stress test. It brings your heart to it's limits and records your EKG, ECG, EGG, CHICKEN, you name it.
Luckily, everything was normal in my case but I am glad I got it checked. You should too. Don't let the "oh i am in my 20's...heart problems? no way" get ya. I knoe of a couple of very healthy young guys who died of heart disease.
^ wow I thought I was the only one. I've learnt to live with the occassional pains in my chest. According to the ECG and EKG I was fine. I have an anxious nature and if I get worried or panicky I get shooting pains in my left arm. I've learnt to calm down a bit so its all lessened considerably.

from heart disease to lung infection to hurting of the left hand
DD: as you already said, this sounds typical for heart burn. the key question here is: if u do some exercise (like walking up the stairs, or cycling, or getting into the cold suddenly) do you feel this pain as well? seconly: do heart disease occur in ur family at young age (<40 yrs)?
if not, then it’s unlikely to be heart disease. As i said, it’s probably heart burn: just make sure u don’t eat too much fat, keep ur paints untidy, don’t do much bending and lifting. and finally take a second pillow when u go to bed
ps: if it worsens, then even if it is heart burn, ull have to get urself checked

I second that.You may have a left sided lung infection,it can also give you shooting pain,do you have breathing problems too as you mentioned you are having cough for many days?? thid could be serious,you need to get sort it out,in any case whether this pain is due to stomach ache or heart problem or lung disease,you need to be checked by a good doc my dear DD!!
Funguy, i once accompanied by aunt for an ECG and kasam that is exaclty what has put me off going again. They made her run topless with wires strapped to heron the treadmill and as you can imagine i am well and truly put off.
Mehnaz, kashish - by the end of the week it'll be a month with this cough thing going on and pains. I'm sure it's all harmless but as you recommend i will get it checked out.
