Heard, and passed on...

What we call in Urdu “suni sunayi baat”. Some of the good and respected people might not realize it at times that when they are suspicious about a person’s activities, and suddenly they hear from a friend / relative (whom they trust a lot) something along exactly the same lines what they were previously suspecting, they might not be able to resist the temptation of passing on those rumors to people close to them without even confirmation from any authentic source.

They don’t realize the fact that they might not be doing good to anyone in anyway by just passing on a judgment (even if they mention while sharing it with others that it is not confirmed but just a possibility). Their words might be heard by “someone” who is waiting for such an opportunity against “that” person to shape those wordings in order to degrade the person regarding whom the rumor had started.

In the end, when that rumor (thunder) reaches the person regarding whom it was started, in words that are a lot more disgracing then how they were actually initiated by those “respected and good” people, he might get deeply hurt when he comes to knows that all the people whom he trusted a lot, were involved in projecting those views. His fault might be only that, due to a busy routine he might be a bit careless to not let people develop assumptions about him, but he didn’t deserve what had started by good and respected people only to create a bit of excitement and thrill at the cost of his dignity.
