I don’t normally cry, but this will break your heart.
A little Syrian girl, Aisha(5 years old), selling tissues on the streets of Turkey to help her family survive, is absolutely shaken when she sees a man in uniform (police) coming towards her. So much so, she grabs on to a passer-by for dear life. Despite the officer’s attempt to calm her down, she repeatedly begs to be let go and promises to not do it again, thinking she is going to be punished for her crimes. Her style used to make the emphatic promise was the gesture used by some Arabs of kissing her hand and placing her finger on her forehead, which children use when asking for forgiveness after doing something terribly wrong.
In behavior highlights the psychological background of the Children of Syria towards “military dress”. Imagine what these children had suffered that scares them like this.
Re: Hearbreaking: Reaction of a little Syrian refugee girl when she saw a policeman
we don't do anything about the orphans and needy kids on Pakistan's streets, yet we create threads about Syrian kids.
These days people r more concerned about making photo/video and uploading it rather than go do something about it and not worry about being the first one to post it online
Re: Hearbreaking: Reaction of a little Syrian refugee girl when she saw a policeman
why would their parents send a 5 year old to sell tissues on the street without any supervision? I know they don't have money etc but seriously? a 5 year old? all by herself?
Re: Hearbreaking: Reaction of a little Syrian refugee girl when she saw a policeman
The psychological impact that the war has had on these babies and children is beyond imagination. I can't find the words to describe how painful it is to see what's going on in a cruel world like the one we live in. Makes me reconsider a lot of things.

what a word it is becoming
These children are/have been in and through a WAR ZONE. Why don't YOU go ahead and make a thread on orphans/needy kids in Pakistan? Nowadays Syria is the highlight of the news so naturally that's what the threads will entertain. Find another forum section to waste your time on.

=/ Wow. Really? What you're failing to realize is that children around the world are not pampered the same way as we were. That's the reason they are capable of carrying out responsibility at an exponential rate as compared to infantile tots that our society is raising nowadays.

Re: Hearbreaking: Reaction of a little Syrian refugee girl when she saw a policeman
and you assumed she had parents?
In the end, if you watched the whole video, that guy and woman ..seemed like parent or guardian. Somebody had to give her a tissue paper and told her to sell .. 5 year old cannot think it up by herself.

I get what you are saying but at the age of 5? really? You know 5 year olds are not little adults right? How vulnerable they are at this age and you are ok with her selling tissue paper all by herself. Sending that girl alone on the street all by herself. At least accompany her. Is that too much to ask or is it pampering her?
Re: Hearbreaking: Reaction of a little Syrian refugee girl when she saw a policeman
i am amazed at the responses here. looks like nobody saw the video where little boys are picking food out of garbage - and normally they eat leaves when they don’t find any scrap of food. I bet someone gonna say why their parents don’t buy them pizza

It's always easy talking when you are sitting behind your computer in a safe spot.
