A healthy baby is the biggest blessing of god. Unfortunately, the reality is that some babies are born with complications and hereditary illnesses. The chances of a unhealthy baby is greater if the couple is unfit or has an illness that could potentially affect the newborn.
In today’s world when people are living a very unhealthy lifestyle and are suffering from illnesses such as diabetes, blood pressure, cancer, allergies etc.. should they reproduce or is it just irresponsible?
Re: Healthy babies
What about yesterday's world when people were repoducing whilst living in poverty?
Since when are you having babies? Did you get married and not tell me?
Re: Healthy babies
Yeah what about yesterday's world..maybe they were not as educated as we are now. World's population is exponentially growing...shouldn't people be more aware.
p.s no, i didn't get married but I should make a few phone calls just to check on things
Re: Healthy babies
Having babies in an individual right, given to us by God (or mother nature if someone prefers that). No government, no matter how well intentioned should take away that right.
The doctors can advise such people about the risks involved. Loved ones can advise but we shouldn't ban people from having babies.
Re: Healthy babies
Does one really need a real Education to have children? I never thought i’d ever say this, but i agree with Ajee, It’s an individual right, plus babies smell lovely and should definately be allowed to be born.
Re: Healthy babies
Of course no one can ban you nor you need any formal education..it's supposed to be a self ban due to awareness. I'm just wondering if it classifies as selfishness.
You know you have aids, yet you are screwing freely in Zimbabwe cuz it's your god given right?
Re: Healthy babies
Fayz bhai, as far as I know the chances of aids being carried over to a new born is far higher than the chances of say diabetes. I could be wrong. And you can't really get diabetes 'screwing freely'.
Re: Healthy babies
more babies come out healthier now than ever before in th history of mankind. medical advances and global wealth has made global infant mortality rise every year. stop getting depressed unnecessarily… make love baby… ![]()
Re: Healthy babies
I don’t really think it’s fair to judge people who have Aids in Zimbabwe who “screw freely”. We don’t know which circumstances they live in. Something like this is almosst impossible to understand…(in my opinion).
Ajee, thats the first and last time I will ever agree with you, so be happy!!!
Re: Healthy babies
I know of a couple where the husband has some genetic problem on one of his chromosomes so their first child had a lot of issues and died when he was around 1 or 2 years old. But they didn't quit and went ahead and had 2 more kids and alhamdulillah both are healthy babies.
Re: Healthy babies
I think about my grandmothers who started having kids in their teens and ended up having 10 of them. They lived through hard times, wars, partition, poverty, illnesses. But they all got through it with the Blessings of God. In our modern times we are so obsessed with science and medicine that childbirth and rearing have become scary. Reproducing is a personal matter and besides genetic issues it should be up to a couple.
Re: Healthy babies
If you have a serious genetic disorder, then I would think you to be irresponsible if you choose to ignore this fact and have kids. It is a God given right to reproduce but the same God gave you a brain and guidance to reason with.
It's easy to see half the truth and console yourself....but that's also being selfish.
Re: Healthy babies
I don't know about that - there will always be ailments and illnesses.
But I do think its irresponsible reproduction when you're having 8 babies and you can't afford to feed them or to send them to school, and you get them to go beg for food on the streets of karachi.
Pakistan needs to be more aggressive in its family planning programs.
