Mine was high cholesterol (256) and very high triglyceride (400). Doctor suggested a change in eating habits and lifestyle. Begum helped me in that and I was able to bring it down to 207. Doctor was very happy but he wanted me reduce it even further as I have a family history of high cholesterol.
So finally he put me on medication. Now my level is 139, which is great. I can have my steak and eat it too.
Triglycerides were controlled 100% by watching what I eat (credit goes to begum for that) and now it’s under 100 points. It was reduced mainly by watching sugar intake
Re: Health challenges that you successfully resolved
Husband giving all the credit to dear Begum. No credit given back to dear husband. Oh my, what we must go through as medically challenged readers of this forum.
Back pain.
My doctor advised some back exercises. Mian Ji helped with push ups and pull ups. Gave water when I was panting and puffing. Wiped my sweat.
Now I’m 90% better (credit goes to Mianji for his support).

Re: Health challenges that you successfully resolved
This is from my undergrad days, I played for the uni soccer team which meant a lot of training and practice. I injured my knee in a match in march and was sidelined all spring semester, summer and fall. Gained almost 30 lbs in that time and then had to work with someone who ws doing his phd in exercise and nutrition and he was working with a cross section of atheletes who were in similar situation as myself and general student population which was trying to lose weight.
I did not follow his guidance on diet at all, my diet was horrible, no breakfast, usually a light lunch or no lunch and dinner which was 2 footlong subway sandwiches, and not one of the healthy ones, but a steak and cheese and a seafood sub.
but one thing I did follow was that I was in teh gym atleast 3 days, but usually 4 or 5 days for 1 to 1.5 hours versus his advise of 30-45 mins, doing both weights and aerobics..mostly stationary bike, as the knee started to get a little better, added racquetball..my goal was to lose the weight in 4.5 months, I lost it in 2.5. according to the guy leading the study it was off the charts. so not quite sure whether it was just metabolism that I pushed in overdrive or what.
