Whenever I have an appoitnment to see the doctor, I’m always seen 2 hours after the acutal time that was scheduled.
When i’m finally seeing hte doctor, we keep getting interrupted by nurses constantly barging in for something or other…
Doctor is going back and forth, taking on more htan one patient at a time…
Walk-ins for Urgent care OMG…no less than 4-5-6 hours wait.
When I went to get my insurance renewed, they never told me that I’d have to get a new doctor because the current doc I’d put down was for adolescent care but since I’ still had 2 months til i became uneligible for adoles care..
Today my appt was for 1030, but I didn’t see the doc til 130. And whY? Because they lost my chart and couldn’t find it I went to three different offices looking for it til I finally found it and even then it took another half hour for htem to bring it up stairs..Jackasses…
Ugh, and probably the most unprofessional office i’ve ever been in—the guy would not listen to anything me and my mother were telling him because he was too busy slurping his ice cream, people were constantly coming in and out to just chat wiht him (nothing work related, just stupid personal bullsht) completely ignroing that there were people there…
So…is this normal behavior at every single health center/hosp or is it just the one I go to
the wait time is normal almost everywhere unless u have some deep pockets and u can go to a first class private clinic.
thats y i hate goin to the doc
i dont get wot takes them so long… like when the doctor actually comes to see you he spends no more than 3-4 minutes but u have to wait 3 hours if you’r behind about 10 ppl
and desi doctors who have studied back home and then moved are even worse The idiots treat you like you’r asking them for donations to a charity. I went to see this doc about my ear. It kept ringing at loud noises like a bad speaker. The guy goes … fill it with sarson ka tail for a week and it should be gud i said isn’t there somthing else that can be done… he goes first do as i said and if it doesn’t work then we’ll see wot we can do and within 2 mins he was gone
^^
once i took an emergecy appoinment to see the doc after waiting for 3 hours i found out tht the appoitment i got is with nurse after seeing me she goes its just bcoz of weathers been changing so go and have percetamol
well surgery - I never had to wait more than 20 minutes, but once I hurt myself in Gym (weights fell on my foot) - I had to wait 18 hours before the X-Ray was taken & after looking at X-Ray - Doctor said, you are perfectly fine (with three times size of my foot by swelling) .... he wanted me to walk home. Ridiculous. I am happy I am not living in UK - NHS, Nakara Health System.
I had an appointment the other day and was called in exactly on time and seated in the room but after i told the doctor my symptoms she left to get prescriptions and seemed like she was never coming back ...
I definitely couldn't take it being the impatient person that I am!! So, opened the door and proceeded to leave.. I ran into some staff and told her, I Have class and I really have to go & had no idea to what happened to the doctor LOL
Sooo the staff member finds the doctor tells her that I have class hehe it was hillarious..
Anywayz the doctor seemed to be taking her time writing me prescriptions and couldn't make up her mind soo i was like, yeah okaaaaay this medication will do! :P Just lemme Leaveeeeeeee :D
Let me play the role of devil's advocate here.. i have worked in the ER in past and honestly I was just dumbfounded to see the so called "emergencies" that ppl come for in the urgent care.. usually they will be just sitting outside in the waiting area reading a book and as soon as the nurse would get them in, they started screaming n yelling how long the wait was and how painful was the bruised toe nail!! abay you don't go to the emegency if you slam your finger in a car door and if ppl like you do then expect the waiting period to be 3-4 hours.. we used to have patients in fast track that needed immediate attention and hence the delays for everyone else!
As far as the appointment wait time goes, I have never faced waiting period at the doctor's/ and or dentist's office.. everything was always on time!! Probably it's just one the advantages of living in a small town than in a big city. :-)
Please do not generalize this to desi doctors only. Not all of them are like that, and yes I speak from experience cuz I happen to know plenty of them. Many of them have the heart to help the patients who are truly in need, because they are from the same homeland. They will give free check ups, and pull favors at hospitals/clinics just to help a fellow desi.
Btw - I understand ur point of view above, with the sarsoon ka tayl. If ur doc is BSing you, it’s time to change ur doc, desi or not.
I don’t know which clinics you guys are going to, but I’m with GtG on this one. I haven’t had to wait more than 20/30 minutes for a scheduled appointment. Ever.

It wasn't the emergency room, just urgent care.....its done on a first-come first-serve basis..anyways i'm not gonna compalin abt that, my biggest complaint is mainly the waiting and unprofessinoalism going on there..
Having to wait three four hours to me is absolutely not normal. I am very picky about doctors to me it is a service that they are providing us rather than us being treated by them. I changed four doctors and one health center till I found the one I like. No more waiting, nursing & admin staff is good and doctor is awesome. Never go to a doctor you don’t know or like.
I was also wondering, what do you guys who have xtremely busy schedules do?
Im just going to school ad I have days off in between but I still hate going to the doc ONLY because my entire mrning and afternoon is wasted there...maybe i just have a hard time balancing all this stuff..:(
Sara, have you ever gone to Dr. Batool in Bklyn.. that lady is running the most unprofessional place everrrr! It takes like 4 hours before she sees you... literally.
^ I went to a desi doc in bklyn once, it was relaly bad, it looked like y face’d exploded (zits and acne) overnight..dun think it was too long of a wait, but then again I kept my face hidden teh whole time…
aww... Dr. Batool is on Foster.. hers is the clinic... right across the street is Azra Wasti... its in a home, but I hear shes much faster... max 2 hours i believe lol...
i think it’s quite normal! that is why i always go about half an hour later than my actual appointment time and still wait for another 15-25 minutes before actually seeing the doc ( not the nurse) bkuz the nurse may get you in the room immediately but even then you are supposed to wait for another 10-15 minutes. that is the reason why i avoid seeing doc as much as i can
