Re: Health and Fitness Forum on GS - Health Attitudes
In terms of who gets to moderate there, my guess is it has to do with how active they are on that forum (or were).
With a quick look at the first page, I noticed that a good chunk of the topics concern weight loss. This is something that generally concerns women more than men. By this I don't mean to say that more women need to lose weight than men, but simply that women are more concerned by it.
As far as men and health advice, I can tell you that I know people in real life who could answer my queries. I assume most men would be in the same boat.
Men in general don't like to share thier health challenges openly. They perceive (for themselves), health challenges as a weakness. Women are not like that. They see health issues as part of life.
Women would openly talk about menstruation, fertility treatments, pregnancy challenges, menopause and such, but men would never talk about ED, prostate and any such issues openly.
Re: Health and Fitness Forum on GS - Health Attitudes
Some of the topics on that forum are women's sexual health related. I dont think the moderators would allow the same room to men to discuss their issues openly.
For instance, imagine a teenage boy asking for some info regarding his 'ejaculatory problems'. He would be perceived as a pervert and the mods would probably ban him.

.
Nope. It concerns men way more than women. Society accepts fat women more than fat men.
Women just whine more about it.
My husband would probably never look to a random forum for health and fitness advice. He makes fun of me just for being on GS. If it were to be a forum he would probably go to one centered around Men's Health like Men's Health Magazine or something more legit with practical advice for men by men or medical experts. Buttsb I don't think it reflects real life at all. Agree with TLK. Just my two cents, happened to see this thread near the top.

Just 1 I believe. He doesn't perceive health problems as a weakness at all. Hes a bio major, has dealt closely with a lot of serious problems in his family so hes very much an advocate for people being open and unashamed about health related issues. Regarding serious health problems he just doesn't care for the advice of people who are not experts. Health /fitness tips in general for overall health is fine. But serious matters, to go where one could really get the right advice they would need and not to ignore any signs.
Re: Health and Fitness Forum on GS - Health Attitudes
Women have to face more physical conditions which men don’t have to. Besides, A women are the most important part of almost every men. They face more physical problems that is the reason to be so much activity of women in these areas. You might like . Thanks!!!
Re: Health and Fitness Forum on GS - Health Attitudes
Women are nurturers by nature and sharing is part of their blue print. When I watch our athletes it seems that the females are huddled together talking and sharing and boys are mostly sitting by themselves. Research shows in an average lifetime a woman might use three times more words than a man.
Also, the male dominated societies put a lot more pressure on females to look good. Although guys are starting to feel the pressure.
Guys are notorious for not seeing the doctor, my wife had to drag me to one.

Hmmm good :k: govts should run these campaigns on national level.. I think that is one of the main cause for men not paying attention on their health, specially in Pakistan..
