okay guys for the past week or so ive been getting a severe headache everyday…over the counter med doesnt seem to help much (ok it helps i guess in the sense that a 24 hr headache may only last for 8-10 hrs but seriously?) i mean the only thing that seems to help is me taking painkillers and darkening my room and sleeping…and when i wake up in the evening the headache is gone only every morning it starts back up again.,..this has messed up my sleep schedule and made me rush thru my namaazez cuz usually prayertimes occur during headache time
i dont thnik its migraines cuz im not sensitive to sound or light i only darken my room cuz thats the only way i can sleep anyways
i guess i shud visit a doc but headache is usually during business hours and it just makes me shy away from leaving the house…somebody cut my head off plz :hinna:
i dunno why im posting this thread…maybe its to whine maybe its to get advice je ne sais pas…
I've dealt with headaches that occur every other day. I think it was partly due to stress at work....cuz they tended to take place at the end of work. I also think that since I took painkillers often, it may have resulted in rebound headaches. Take a look at when your headaches usually take place.....there may be a pattern...could be stress-related....and if it is, try to find ways to reduce the tension. Tension headaches (as it was in my case) tend to spread toward your neck and shoulders.
Taking painkillers too often can result in rebound headaches....so be careful about that. I also noticed that lack of water...too much caffeine and certain foods also triggered headaches for me. So pay attention to your diet.
For me...I tend to get headaches the day before...or a few days before my period, which is a common PMS symptom. Iron-deficiency...a common problem in women...can cause headaches. Consider taking a multivitamin. Just look at when your headaches take place...what you've been eating around the time they occur, etc. Mirch made a good point...get your eyesight checked. Being behind the computer too much is also another reason.
mostly women get tension headaches... if you feel tightness/squeezing but no pulse-like pressure, it occurs during the day (by the end of work), is accompanied with neck muscle pain- it's likely a tension headache. Tension headaches are usually toward the front of the head and the sides (near the ear).
Try to notice if the pain is pulse-like or if it's just a tightness. See when it occurs and where- is the pain localized in one side of the head and is it progressively getting worse? Look at other symptoms like nausea, vomiting, etc. Be able to describe all of that to your physician.
^ could be TMJ. People get the clicking in their jaw often when they get into car accidents.
TMJ can cause headaches and lead to cervical/neck pain. It sucks.
But if pain is localized and is progressively getting worse, it needs to be looked into. Also, if any headache is the worst headache you've ever had + neurological symptoms... go to the ER.
Abrupt headaches that you've never had before, neurological symptoms, vomiting before getting a headache, a headache that disrupts sleep or is present upon waking up... these all need to be looked into ASAP.
acha just because you have asked me to torture you I will do it
i think this headache could most possibly be something to do with your eyes … sometimes eye pressure changes make it really sensitive to light and even the temperature around us … and the first sign of it is continued headache which goes away when you sleep …
A friend suffered it and docs couldnt tell what was wrong with her … only when she went to her optician she was told she had issues with her eye pressure …
Could be something else .. but thought i will let you know about this as well
chal jaa hun, aish ker puttar … changa sa daacter lub
Every other person around me had same problem & i asked them to go get their eye sight checked & guess what it was? They had weak eye sight. Get your eyes checked maybe the number has dropped.
iam having constant headaches BUT i already got my eyesight checked only need glasses for driving.. i do feel pressure in my eyes though.. they feel like shutting down.. and no iam not sleepy.. also feel dizzy along with the headaches.. any doctors on gs? i hate going to the doctors they dont know what they are doing i was in the ER for an entire day and night and they sent me home without telling me what was wrong with me .. :hinna: i rather figure things out myself
If it is not eyesight then you need to get your head checked. No seriously. You need to see some neurologist , they might be able to figure out the cause of your headache and eye pressure.
Sorry I just wanted to make you smile a bit that is why I wrote that first sentence for pun purposes. :D
