Head Lice in Pakistan

Okay so I am going to pakistan next week and I am really worried about getting headlice coz so many people have it over there
What’s a good way to prevent yourself from getting it and dont say “dont get near people who have it” becoz thats impossible how do u know who has it and who doesnt
does anyone know a good shampoo of some sort that might keep me from getting them
They are so ewwww and my hair is long tooo

Re: Head Lice in Pakistan

dying is nice way to stay away from lice! lol

but i hear tea tree is very powerfull against lice
just try to get some tea tree shampoo, or a tea tree hair lotion.

i do mix 5 to 6 drops of essential oil to a 100ml water to get a lotion for hair, try it with tea tree essential oil,and massage your scalp with it, you can leave it fr some time before shampoo...
(i use other plants to get rid of dandruff)

Re: Head Lice in Pakistan

Bug repellant. Avon has a product called "Skin So Soft" that actually has a pleasant smell, not the pesticide-smell like Cutter or OFF. Just lightly mist yourself before you go out in public. It will also prevent mosquito bites which can cause sickness too (malaria season is here).

Mitti ka Tail

I remember this one time me and my brother both got 'em and mummy was like Im not going to spend a fortune getting the headlice lotion so she poured mitti ka tail in our hair and made us sit there for an hour and then washed our head with water and vinegar

Does the trick although you keep on smelling like Petrol station for a week.

To prevent my kids from getting headlice from school, i massage the headlice lotion in their hair after shampoo and the smell of it just repels the damn things.

Re: Head Lice in Pakistan

put tons of gel in your hair, lice will die

Re: Head Lice in Pakistan

just don’t have your head touching there heads with yours

Re: Head Lice in Pakistan

The best way to prevent lice is to avoid sharing hairbrushes, hats, combs, even dupattas, basically anything that goes on the head. Take your own pillowcase and use it if you are really concerned. Lice are everywhere, I never noticed that they were any more prevalent in Pak than they are here. Take some RID with you, and a lice comb. Also believe it or not mayonnaise is fantastic for getting rid of lice - conditions your hair nicely too.

Re: Head Lice in Pakistan

Easiest way is to add a few drops of undiluted tea tree oil to your bottle of shampoo and conditioner. Lice hate the smell and your hair will stay nit free.

Re: Head Lice in Pakistan

takle showers regularly
dont get sweaty
and dont share things

Re: Head Lice in Pakistan

lol i never had any

Re: Head Lice in Pakistan

Perm your hair and put gel in your hair, lice don't like curly hair, gel and hair sprays.

And before coming back home make sure you sit with a massi and request her to check your hair for any lice and nits. Also make sure you bring the plastic nits plucking combs from pakistan cauz you will not get any good combs from here.

Goodluck!

Re: Head Lice in Pakistan

Take some bottles of Nix with you. They're easily available in most stores.

You do want to avoid bringing your head close to anyone and everyone. That is hard to do.

I would also recommend for periodically checking for them, and combing them out. If you let them take roost and multiply, then later on, it will take longer to get rid of them. You can just put oil in your hair, or when your hair is moist, and use a fine nit comb on your hair. Run the comb from the scalp to the tips of your hair. If you see eggs on the comb, use some Nix immediately.
