why is God always referred to as HE and not She?
The Question reminds me of the question ALLAH :swt: asked to Mushrikeen that why did they refer to the angels as daughters of Allah:swt:

It’s good to see pondering brains in the matter of religion. The scary thing is that the same questions may be used as weapon by shaitaan. The best tool to avoid this is to read up Quran and read many tafaaseer to reach a conclusion.
^ y is it that when u question religion, any religion it becomes a "scary thing"? is there something wrong with questioning faith? maybe what i believe in is not so perfect after all. but then again nothing is perfect.

Indeed not. But as a precaution I DID say something in my last sentence :)
actually there is a rational reasoning behind that. it has got to do something with the arabic grammer. (the way Allah is written in arabic)dr. zaker naik (sp??) has given a very logical explanation for that. when i heard it, it made a lot of sense but its a little complicated. i don't really remember it now.
u might want to look up his vcd's at your local store of al huda.
I had a chance to personally meet this young dynamic speaker here in NY. If you can find what exactly he said, it will be appreciated a lot.
btw: his website is: http://www.irf.net/irf/drzakirnaik/
^
on the site you mentioned the lecture in which he explains the reason isn’t there. nor on his website : http://www.drzakirnaik.com/pages/lectures/index.php
i have his cds which i got from pak. it will take me a while to figure out which one was it since i will have to hear all of them(and i hope they are still working). i won’t get time to go through them until this weekend so you will have to wait till then unless somebody else can explain it before that.
yes:) that’s why I asked if you can provide some info..
Actually, If you can, please try to upload that part of his audio lecture.

incorrect explaination. please avoid such remarks. would be kind of you
Arabic has no neuter gender, so even non-humans and inanimate objects are referred to as he or she... so just because something is referred to as he or she in Arabic it doesn't necessarily equate that it is male or female based on our usual understanding of these terms...
e.g. Siyara (car) = feminine word; Khalifa (Deputy/Vicegerent) = feminine word even though it is usually applied to males; Shams (sun) = feminine; qamar (moon) = masculine...
It is not a sexist issue and more relevent to our daily usage of language.
Allah is nether male nor female !
So it should make no difference if you call he or she. It just that we normaly term unknown entity as masculine. For example an alien is referred as he mostly. Also any android is usually termed as masculine etc.
So it is unwritten rule that if some gender is not clear then it is more likely that we treat them as masculine.

I'd say IT might be more appropriate here...?
Mostly living beings are not referred as ' it '.
Perhaps, but justifying calling Allah a 'he' because we usually call aliens and androids a 'he' is a little ridiculous to say the least.
I am not justifying, I am telling the common way of reference for a being who's gender can not be defined.
Ofcourse if you believe in some God, you can refer him as 'it','she' or 'it' based upon your liking.
