why this is injected to female after or during the treatment of Clomid?

This is usually called the "trigger shot". The clomid makes eggs ripen in the ovary. When the eggs are ripe, the HCG shot is given and it makes the ripe egg(s) release from the ovary and start the trip down the fallopian tube.
even i got an injection as soon as the doc realised my egg was 21mm(on day 14 of my period) and gud enough to be ruptured. it was a bit painful one.. got shot on my hip and that always hurt! anyway as MO3 said, it helps in rupturing the egg so that it can go to fallopian tube. this is my second cycle on clomid but 1s time with injection so lets see.... the doc has asked me to go for urine test on 27 sept to check if i m preg... and since 3-4 days already i m having a back pain and some pain in the abdomen area, near the navel area and startin of vagina... its complicated... i tried sleepin last nite but it was a bit painful.. the thing is, its in intervals so dunno what this is??

^ohh thats why i have backache well i got this injection on 12th day i mean on 11thsep but till now i dont think any progress is here....
though i also check ovulation n pregnancy but both r -ve.

sorry... i meant on day 14 of my period they checked my eggs and they were 21mm... that day itself she gave me injection and asked me to come on day 17 she checked to see if egg ruptured and it showed it had ruptured... so she told me to expect gud news Inshallah. lets see... r u also tryin for a baby? is it ur first baby too? is it ur first time on injection? when did u have ur period last month?? check on exact same date this month to see if ure preg.. best of luck.. i still have 4 days more to go before i know !!

best of luck, i have PCOS trying to conceive but i already have a 15 months old boy alhamdullilah but this is the first time she injected me HCG. ithink my Dr didnt call me for the next visit for example on 17th day, shud i consult her?

hmmmm wow u have planned the preg in such a way that ur kid will b exact 2 yrs old when new one is born :) well i have pcos too and i m overweight and all the other stuff... head hairloss, hair growth on legs, arms and where not... its really bad. well if she injected u that means ur egg must have ruptured within 1-2 days... i only did it cus i m covered by insurance and dun need to pay for a scan... but i think it dusnt matter. wat date was ur last period?

my LMP was 29th august, in pakistan scanning is not a big deal though we dont like insurance.

and honey, i work so i m medically insured... i know in pak it is affordable.. btw r u in pak????
