Hazrat/Hadrat So and So.

Salaam,

Arabs never use this title before the names of Prophets (A) or the Companions (R).

Is it something the Muslims of the sub-continent invented?

Does it mean Sir.?

Its just to show respect i think

"hadhrat" is used in the urdu language....
just as "Sir" or "Mister" wud be in english....
in arabic they usually affix "sayedena" instead....
