i m sharing here sets of advices hazrat muavia gave to his Yazid ibn Muavia (successor) at his death bed. i think we can consider this monograph comprises of the all basic factors that an Allah fearing and good ruler need to be adhered and the ruler of all era shud take guidance from it.
Best opening speech in my opinion, succint and laying the ground work for democracy. It was light years ahead of any political system of its time until the darkness of malookiat engulfed khilafat 30yrs later
so bro did yazid ibne muawiyah ibne abu sufian
adhered to this advice from his dad or went his own way?
i think there is a controversy about it and historians and muhaddisin have different opinion about it. having said that in my humble opinion he adhered to the advice of his father to great extent. thats y majority of ummate muslima had reposed confidence in him.

Yes Yazid did practised on the advise of this Father, but not 100%, he made a basic mistake, he let the people with evil intentions to be his advisors, e.g. Marwan bin Hakm had other intentions in his mind...

LOL whatever you wanna say buddy. This minor mistake led up to a major fault ;)
And man, that other topic you made Maverick, I have posted so many times that Ibn Kathir wrote in favor of Yazid, but continuing on in Al Badayah bashed him. Explain pl0x

The facts are there for everyone to read, no use in denying them by twisting the words and publishing false books. The Shi’at of Ali (r) were responsible for the death of Uthman (r) and Hussein (r). If they want to cry and cry for their bad deeds, let them. End of. Ahlel Bayt
uthman and hussain were simply humans if they were killed so what ? let God forgive those who did it, why should we condemn them ...afterall God forgives everything.
maybe those who killed hussain and uthman did with good intentions at heart , did it dawn on your thick skulls ? who are we to judge
Years ago one of my professors began his lecture by stating:
"There is no absolute truth." (I'm not sure who the original statement is attributed to)
Obviously the statement engendered great debate amongst the class because by virtue of agreeing to the statement, you disgree with the principle. So round and round the discussion went with no resolution.
The Shia/Sunni debate and acceptance of who was righteous in the annals of history is a very personal question as it goes to the issue of whose version of the "truth or facts" I choose to accept. My truth or understanding of history may differ from the "truth and facts" another chooses to accept and believe.
If you look at recent historicial events, the same holds true. The saying is that history is written by the victors - but modern history has challengers who question the version of information. The victor is not necessarily righteous, but rather the one victorious in combat or more proliferous in sharing his version of the "truth".
While I may be disappointed by what I consider the wrong beliefs of others, it is left to Allah to reward the righteous and punish the wrongdoers. I am only responsible for my actions and answerable to Allah for myself. And I am grateful that Allah granted me the ability to engage in critical thinking and to question and satisfy for myself which version of the truth is right.
So the debate and the disagreement on this issue will continue - there is no answer to satsify everyone since truth is relative.
Ahem..That’s HAZRAT Ali and HAZRAT Hussein. Show some respect will ya?
The site has no real insight. Especially when you posted the article of Imam Ali naming 3 of his sons. There’s no need to answer questions with these ridiculous, hypothetical scenarios that you have wasted your whole life creating.
Of course, we are just shedding tears for our bad-doings. You did say on my facebook no Shia was present during Karbala, but before that you commented saying there was no such thing as a shia ;). You also never replied to my question on facebook - if I am such a sinner, mislead bigot who only sheds tears and does matam, where were the “real” Shia’s of Prophet Mohammad (saw) and Imam Ali (as)? Where were the real Muslims if we were such ditchers? Where were you to save Imam Hussain (as) from the oh so terrifying Shia backstabbers?
come on guys get a life. this has nothing to do with hazrat ali or hussain (RA). it is a set of advises showing his competence as a ruler and a god fearing person. beside how much he was aware of the nuances that a good ruler must consider. thats why he is remembered as amir ul arab
