Hazrat Adam Alaihissalam was the first human being

The first human being was Hazrat Adam Alaihissalam as is evident from Quran, (check Surah Bakara).

Another proof from Surah Nisa - ayat 1:

O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwa (Eve)], and from them both He created many men and women and fear Allâh through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship)]. Surely, Allâh is Ever an AllWatcher over you.

Difference between humans, angels and jinns is that humans are made from clay, angels are made from nur, Allah SWT knows better about it, and jinns are made from fire. Iblis / shaitan is not an angel he is a jinn who are made from fire.

Allah SWT ordered all the angels to do Sajda to Hazrat Adam AS, and the meaning of Sajda is known by all of us.

Another view of the scientists is that human were in the shape of monkeys in the history and gradually changed their shapes, which is totally against Quran although there was a nation which changed in to monkeys which was Allah SWT’s curse (Azab) on them.

As far as other beings are concerned, animals, birds, reptiles, micro organisms, etc. etc. Allah SWT said in Quran that HE has created pairs of them.

As far as creation of the universe is concerned, Quran does not support the Big Bang Theory, but Quran says :-

Surah Al Baqara - 117
The Originator of the heavens and the earth. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it : “Be!” - and it is.
Qun fa Yaqoon

Wallah O Alam Wassalatu wassalam O Ala Nabiana Muhammed

Why did you started a new thread hwen there was already a thread going on by jewels.

You discussed the first Ayat of Sura Nisa but totally forgot the point which I raised in the other thred. I said that “Nafs-i-Wahida” is used for females. Its a moanas. So the first person can’t be Hazrat Adam.

In a few days I will provide you referneces for the aayat refering to Evolution

And also about Big Bang theory. I just have to contact the person who told me this. See if I can get him.

BY THE WAY I WOULD PREFER TO TALK ABOUT THIS TOPIC IN THREAD BY JEWELS BECAUSE ITS NOT APPROPRIATE TO START A NEW THREAD WITH EXCATLY SAME TOPIC.

Dear abdullah,

it is very very shameful to distort the meaning of the koran to prove your point. in order to negate my modern ideas, you have not even hesitated from distorting the koran and making a translation which is acceptable to no knower of arabic. following are the defects in your translation:

1) "nafs-e-waheda" is not a single "person" but a single "being".
2) "nafs-e-waheda" is a feminine bing, and this word can not be associated to "adam".
3) "zojaha" is used for a companion from the opposite sex. "nafs-e-waheda" being fiminine, this companion must be a male, and can not be "eve"

according to the law, this discussion should end here unless and untill you come up with answers to my points. but even if you have answers to all my points, you still have one MAJOR defect in your theory.

Even if we suppose for a second, that
1) the "nafs-e-waheda" is a male
2) "nafs-e-waheda" is a human being
3) his companion was a female

then too,

where does it say in the koran that the single person was "adam" and his wife was "eve" ? even if you do not believe in evolution, you still have NO point to say that adam was the first human being. koran DOES NOT mention that.

infact, in the above verse you have put the names of adam and eve in the brackets YOURSELVES. koran does not have any such brackets! anyone can even use brackets and change the name calling the first man, say " akram hussain" , and the first women, "shakeela" or "ghazala" .. will you then believe in him? i man who gave you the write to add these names in brackets?

the real meaning of this verse that first there were single selves, and they were FEMALES. they underwent asexual reproduction. this verse explains the volution from asexual to sexual reproduction, which was a step in the development of human beings, the highest form of animals. so the verse adds to, rather than contradict the theory of evolution.

So be on watch for a day when heaven shall bring a manifest smoke
covering the people; this is a painful chastisement. 'O our lord remove thou from us, the chastisement; we are believers.' How should they have the reminder? seeing a clear Messenger has already come to them, then they turned away from him, and said,' A man, tutored, possessed!"
( the koran, verse 11-14, chapter 44, Smoke, the nuclear explosion.)

This is very interesting. We have some scholarly people with great ideas. Please continue, we are reading this very carefuly.

Minhaj Arifin

" we created you, then we shaped you through an evolution, ( sawwarnaakum )and then we told the angels to bow to adam." ( verse 13, chapter 7, the battlements)

this verse implies that:
first there was creation, then there was evolution, and THEN came adam. there must be human beings before adam, who were undergoing the evolution to develop into the best shape.
this verse makes it more clear that there had been many human beings before adam. the word "sawwarnakum" tells us how they passed through very very long stages of evolution, and when they reached a suitable shape, god send adam to teach them, and ordered the angels to bow before him. it was after reaching this stage that adam was sent.

i challenge any molvi to bring out even ONE verse out of the whole koran which says adam was the first human being. this is an open challenge!

Prophet Muhammad's (saws) Last Sermon

[This sermon was delivered on the Ninth Day of Dhul-Hijjah 10 A.H. in the 'Uranah valley of Mount Arafat' in Mecca.]

After praising and thanking Allah the Prophet (saws) said:

"O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying very carefully and take these words to those who could not be present here today.

O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that he will indeed reckon your deeds. Allah has forbidden you to take usury (interest), therefore all interest obligations shall henceforth be waived. Your capital is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity. Allah has judged that there shall be no interest and that all the interest due to Abbas ibn 'Abd'al Muttalib [the Prophet's uncle] be waived.

Every right arising out of homicide in pre-islamic days is henceforth waived and the first such right that i waive is that arising from the murder of Rabiah ibn al Harithibn.

O People, the unbelievers indulge in tampering with the calender in order to make permissible that which Allah forbade, and to forbid that which Allah has made permissible. With Allah the months are twelve in number. Four of them are holy, three of these are successive and one occurs singly between the months of Jumada and Shaban.

Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope of that he will be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under Allah's trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right, then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with anyone of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste. O People, listen to me in earnest, worship Allah, say your five daily prayers, fast during the month of Ramadhan, and give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford to.

All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over a white - except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belogs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not therefore do injustice to yourselves. Remember one day you will meet Allah and answer your deeds. So beware: do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.

O People, no prophet or apostle will come after me, and no new faith will be born. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand my words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the Qur'an and my Sunnah and if you follow these you will never go astray.

All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness, O Allah, that I have conveyed Your message to Your people."

Read the third last paragraph carefully and you will know who is the first in mankind.

About the Big Bang Theory, let me read about it more, then i will come back.

Being son/daughters of Adam and Eve means spirtual sons and daughters not the real sons and daughters because he was the first prophet.

Another thing that acoording to estimates Hazrat Adam came 6000 years ago but scientists have discovered human skeletons in Austrailia as old as 40,000 years. What do you think about that.

now that you couldnt find any proof from the koran, you brought this story in. here's my reply:

example 1:

the wives of prophet mohammad are called umhaatul mo'mineen. how will you explain this? does this mean all muslims are direct descendants of prophet mohammad? ask your molvi sahab, why they have been called umhaat ul mo'mineen? your molvi sahab will tell you that they are spiritual mothers and not real ones! then why will this translation change for Eve?

example 2:

Mohammad ali jinnah, is called baba-e-qaum in pakistan. which means, the father of the nation. ask your molvi sahab, what it means. he will tell you that this does not mean he is the real father of the whole nation, but just a spiritual father. will you then ask your molvi why meaning changes when the same thing is said for adam?

conclusion:

a meter rod, measures equal, no matter the cloth is superior or inferior. measure cotton cloth or measure silk, the meter will be the same.

but on the other hand, the word "mother" and "father" when used relating a nation are always translated as spiritual mother and spiritual father. however, they change their meaning when used for adam and eve!

any neutral reader tell me,
is this not unfair?
is it not unjust?
shouldnt the meter rod measure equal, for cotton cloth and for silk?

So be on watch for a day when heaven shall bring a manifest smoke
covering the people; this is a painful chastisement. 'O our lord remove thou from us, the chastisement; we are believers.' How should they have the reminder? seeing a clear Messenger has already come to them, then they turned away from him, and said,' A man, tutored, possessed!"
( the koran, verse 11-14, chapter 44, Smoke, the nuclear explosion.)

From the point of “Mother” and “father” it came to my mind that word “Father” is also used in the case of Jesus. Will abdulla take literal meaning of that?

Re: Hazrat Adam Alaihissalam was the first human being

As far as creation of the universe is concerned, Quran does not support the Big Bang Theory, but Quran says :-

Brother just to let you know that Al-Quran does support the big bang theory. Not only does it support it but it explains better then anyone else:

21 Surah Al-Anbiyah, Ayat 30
Translation By 'Abdullah Yusuf'Ali
"Do not the unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together, before We clove them asunder? We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?"

Here is the verse in the Holy Quran that explains that it is the unbelievers and not the muslims who will see(discover) that the earth and the heavens were joined and were seperated by a big bang. But the one thing they could'nt see was a creator who made it happen("We clove them asunder"). Just like if we throw a rock it doesnt form a wall or a building.

Allah rabil aalameen further explains that every thing is made of water, basically without water life cannot sustain. That is the reason why NASA is searching the other planets for only water, because if there is no abundance of water, it's no use going there.

Im just a student of Al-Quran not a teacher, for i try to accomplish the sunnah of Prophet Muhammed P.B.U.H:

*Tirmizi Narrator:- Hazrat Usman Bin Affan (RA) *
The Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H) said: The best among you is the one who learns and teaches the Quran.

May peace be upon you.
