Hazara Province By N$ & others But why not Bahawalpur first

Today Nawaz Shareef announced support of Hazara province. PML (Q) has already supported this. Remember name of Khyber Pakhtonkhwah was accepted by ANP on proposal of Nawaz Shareef.
It is ok but why not Bahawalpur first. It is not Ethnic demand. It is legal, historical, moral right of the people of state of Bahawalpur. If something wrong has been done in past, why it should not be corrected.

See some information about Bahawalpur first.www.unostamps.nl/country_bahawalpur.

The State of Bahawalpur was a princely state of the Punjab in what is now Pakistan, stretching along the southern bank of the Sutlej and Indus Rivers, with its capital city at Bahawalpur. The state was counted amongst the Rajputana states (now Rajastan) to the southeast. After two centuries of varying degrees of independence, the state became part of Pakistan in 1947. It was divided into three districts: Bahawalpur, Rahimyar Khan and Bahawalnagar.

The state was founded in 1690 by Bahadur Khan II. Nawab Mohammad Bahawal Khan III signed the state’s first treaty with the British on 22 February 1833, guaranteeing the independence of the Nawab. Bahawalpur declared independence from British India on 15 August 1947, but joined Pakistan on 3 October 1947 and was merged into the province of West Pakistan on 14 October 1955.

During the period 1947 - 1949 stamps for Bahawalpur were issued. These were only valid within the state. For letters to Pakistan and abroad the stamps of Pakistan were used. From 1945 stamps were issued for official mail.

Re: Hazara Province By N$ & others But why not Bahawalpur first

Ask one of the elected MNAs from Bahawalpur. One is Muhammad Baligh-ur Rehman. He is in Nawaz Sharif's PML-N. Maybe he can explain it to you.

Re: Hazara Province By N$ & others But why not Bahawalpur first

I cannot see Pakistan on the map posted. Maybe it is a mistake as well. Let us correct it and undo partition of India.

Re: Hazara Province By N$ & others But why not Bahawalpur first

This mess has been created the leadership of PPP who agreed to associated re-naming of NWFP with 18th Amendment, as usual, they are successful in creating anarchy in one of the most peaceful region of Pakistan... Hats of to them.. I remember PML(Q), ANP, PPP , FazulurRehman ( this guy is insult to his name) all were blaming PML (N) for holding up the amendment on the mere name issue, now that mere name issue has the cost of 14 lives... are they happy or they gonna get more people killed and turn it into some kind of mess again....

It is time to re-think and go for 19th amendment but i am sure, Zardari Govt. would not pay any attention to it as they need all this hungama to work out their corruption and do all the bad they are doing...

We as a nation has been given the punishment from Allah All-Mighty, as their is hadees which says that, when Allah decides to punish a nation, He impose corrupt and most notorious person on them ( not exact words). I don't think that their is anyone more corrupt then our current political elite... they are corrupt and incompatible having zero sincerity with the country...

The Intention of the OP is clear.. he want to take political mileage out of it.. he want to tell others look PML (N) is bunch of devils etc etc... but in mean time he has totally forgotten what the govt of PPP has done to the common man of Pakistan... yes Jiyalas have limited understanding when it comes to logic or talking sense...

India was never one country. so indian should not emotional sentiments.

This is a map of 1904.

Re: Hazara Province By N$ & others But why not Bahawalpur first

If Bahawalpur were to be seperated from Punjab, what's the big deal.

Re: Hazara Province By N$ & others But why not Bahawalpur first

^ No big deal. If needed, they can use political measures to get what they want. Hope people don't resort to violence over it.

Before that the ethnic powers inside provinces grow up for their provinces , we shall go for new provinces like India and Bahawalpur could be first step because it is not ethnic but a beauty of our history. History of Pakistan.

Re: Hazara Province By N$ & others But why not Bahawalpur first

Indians did break up larger states into smaller ones, but after a lot of violence and protests in some cases.

Nothing wrong with dividing Punjab into two, but has to be done through diplomacy and not phaddacracy.

Re: Hazara Province By N$ & others But why not Bahawalpur first

Smaller provinces will actually be easier to manage. But that would mean more power to the feudal landlords and others who have abused their powers over the past decade or two.

I am not opposed to us having more provinces. It may have a better affect on management and the like but what I don't agree with is provinces along lines of ethnicity.

Re: Hazara Province By N$ & others But why not Bahawalpur first

Princely states are a thing of the past. The seraiki people themselves will not let Bahalpur to be a separate province, like Taj Langah in Jirga attacked Durrani on this.

They divided Indian Punjab into 3 without any demand.

That was to cut down the power Sikh minority down to the size.

And

Indian were so nationalist that they didn't even give a capital to Punjab. That poor state shares it with Hindu dominated Haryana.

Do not be a blind copiers of Indians. They have their own Hindu nationalist agenda, and we separated from them precisely because of that.

And now you want us to turn around and behave towards our minorities like they do in India.

Wow.

How much education you have towards the real history of Pakistan?

Indians have good qualities like being humble, appreciative of their country, their love of high education, and them being friendly to Western visitors. And they are much business savvy too.

Copy the good traits and not their anti-minority traits.

Thank you.

Re: Hazara Province By N$ & others But why not Bahawalpur first

Right. But we have to think for our nation. I have no connection with Bahawalpur and I have been there for one or two nights in my life but it can be a reply to ethnic demand of Sariki Sooba. Can we not learn fron India for our nation something. Think once again. Hope now you will agree.

Re: Hazara Province By N$ & others But why not Bahawalpur first

By who? do you mean the center. If so, you are mistaken. It makes no difference to feudal lords whether province is small or large. Instead, full autonomy be given to provinces as agreed in 1940 resolution. Except defense, currency, post and foreign affairs, all subjects should be handed over to provinces for more effective governance.

Re: Hazara Province By N$ & others But why not Bahawalpur first

Now one big party (PML Q) announced support of a new province in south Punjab. Saraiki Qaumi Movement and some other also working for ' Saraikistan '. Imran Khan is also supporting new units so only way to stop ethnic division of Punjab is to restore Bahawalpur as a province which was illegally handed over to Punjab by Yahya Khan.

Re: Hazara Province By N$ & others But why not Bahawalpur first

you guys know i told ya before in my thread 4 provinces with current popluation is not matching at all,..... well in short cut
