Having to participate in Weird things at School

Do you recall ever having to do something weird or uncomfortable in school?

I remember when I was in elementary school they made us take off everything except our under-clothing and we would have to play a game dressed like that. Now that I think about this, I would never want my child to have to take off her clothes to do that. I find it very odd that I had to do that, but was too young to ask what was going on at that time.

Today I was watching a program of children in a classroom and the teacher told the girls that they have to pick a boy to kiss in the classroom (it was Valentines day). I found that to be very weird. Is this appropriate? You could tell most of the boys were disgusted by it and some of them complained to the teacher that some girls wouldnt stop trying to kiss them. Even some of the girls were disgusted by it. This went on for about 20 to 30 minutes, boys and girls would just go around hugging and kissing eachother. eeeekkkkk As a parent, would you be pleased with this interaction of your child?

Did you ever have to do strange things in class? Would you be worried if your child had to do such things?

Re: Having to participate in Weird things at School

 Is this normal??? I have never heard of such thing in my life before.

yeah once :hehe:

I didnt want to sit to this girl I was aged what, 6 or 7 :hehe: so I pulled her chair away and she hit the floor and started crying
I had to kiss her then :expressionless:

ughhhh still have nightmares…

but your case  sounds like a pervert teacher girl
take off clothes to play ‘games’

u sure it wasnt gym?

damn munni, your teacher was a pedophile.

I had a female teacher. She was a tall blonde, and very nice to all the kids. I have no clue why we had to play that, but the weird thing is, it was done outside of the classroom, in the halls of the school. It could have been for physical education class, but since when do kids have to remove their clothing for that? It's not like we changed into shorts. Nothing bad happened though, it was just for those 30 or so minutes we had to do that, and then we would go back to class and do our lesson. But yeah, freaky, to say the least.

I recall she used to wear these skirts just above her knees and she'd make us sit infront of her on the floor for reading time or whatever. I remember the kids used to giggle because they would look up her skirt, and I was about 4 years old or so and used to think to myself that she needs to wear a longer skirt. But I dont think she was a pedophile, I dont think teachers consider these things with such young children. However, shouldnt a teacher realize this and not wear such clothes after seeing kids giggling and stuff?

stripping for games, sitting on the floor to read with teacher sitting above.. what kind of a school was this? :-s

It was a school in Europe. A reputable one infact. Imagine all the parents that had no idea that their children were doing this (including mine), even if it was innocent. I'm gonna try and make sure I know what goes on at my children's schools.

None of you find the other situation disturbing?

we had to do some wierd stuff in H&R class back in year 7-10

there were a few other muslim girls in my class so we refused to participate which then led to other non-muslim girls opting out as well

i liked most of H&R classes, but there were some things best left to the imagination

When I was in college, we had to watch a videotape of some very disturbing things. Needless to say, people wanted the professor kicked out of the college, but they didnt fire her.

Munni

I went to schools in England. (Nursery, Infant and Junior). Never had to go through anything like the one you describeb.

That's definatley not normal behaviour to be taking place in a school.

Stripping and doing physical exercise in underpants was the norm in the 80's in the uk - doubt if it would happen now!

I remember one desi kid stripping off to remember he had no underwear on to strip down too! Poor kid.

Was funny then but thinking back it was out of order and perverted to make kids do things like this.

Sick Europeans!

This kind of stuff would never happen in US of A. And even if it did, someone would get fired over it.

In your beginning thread you mention elementary school, then you mention you were 4yrs old. Which one was it? (big difference between elemenatry and pre-k) I can understand 4 yr old having to take clothes off (maybe she was checking who pooped), but definetaly not in elementary school.
While on this subject, one of the california teachers showed the beheading of one the Americans (the pennsylvania guy) and there was a lot of news on that.
You really do have to watch and pay close attention to what they teach in schools these days. One needs to participate in PTA and not necessarily agree with what the teachers say, the teachers can be, and are wrong sometimes.

Neely is that true? So it wasnt just my school huh. eek

Sheikh, yes it was an elementary school, not a Pre-K. I agree, you really do need to pay attention to what they teach and their methods.

n i thought reading romeo and juliet was stupid errrmm we had to talk about our frist kiss which was kinda stupid n then like I remember having to tell like a class full of white kids that i was 16 n never kissed was embarrassing too n then like all these questions that i had to answer :smack:

What's so sick about that? You obviously haven't seen the underwear that kids in the olden days had to wear. You could fit a family of albanians in there with room to spare.

weird school

I remember, in England, we had to get changed for P.E. (phys. ed.) in the hallway. Now that I think about it, it was quite strange. Then again, there weren't any change rooms and we were little then.

On Second thought, maybe your teacher was looking for baby cross dressers, hey you never know in this day and age.

Munni - I never lie!

It was one of those things we accepted as being something the goray teachers make us do when we are at their mercy in school!
