yeah i love having my grandparents around, they're full of wisdom stories life experience and much more. Its not about barakah, its more about raunaq in my opinion.
Granparents are great. Actually its National Grandparents Day soon in the UK, sometime in september I think.

so yeah. ove having them around........... :)
I love having my grandparents around. They've come to stay with us for a few times in last few years, but my dada jaan always starts missing Pakistan and his buddies and everything else, and wants to go back. Since they are old, dadi jaan doesn't want him going back alone Godforbid something happens, so she goes back with him as well. I love hearing their lifetales, neseehats, and everything else they have to say. They have a very unique way of showing their love, and that too continuously. If dada and dadi are around, you can get away with a lot with your parents :D They always step in and rescue you.
My parents are old enough to be considered 'bazurag' and I won't let 'em go back to Pakistan even if they want to.
The whole set is gone - Dada jaan I never saw - died in the 1947 riots - Nana jaan and nani amman both passed away last year - Dadi left us this year january.
I cant tell you how much I miss them - I was more attached to my dadi jaan - and I still have memories when I was a small kid and she used to tell us stories - during those winter nights - snuggled close to her in that big velvet LIHAAF - me and my younger brother - Haan tu bhai - aik dafaa ka zikar hay - aik baadshaah thaa -----------
She also had that paandaan by her side and would ocassionally cut challiaa and pop the paan in her mouth -
YEsssss - Grand Parents are a gift from GOD - treasure them while u can :)

I miss my grandparents too. That relationship is so precious. I miss their duas, qisa khaniyaan and ronaq in the house.
