Haha that’s so cool! I wish we’d moved to France or Germany or somewhere cool so I could speak these languages, I know quite a few people who moved to Austria or Holland from Pakistan before coming to the UK and know German and Dutch as good as they know Urdu, their first language.

Lol someone recently said my accent was “twanky” aswell. I was like wtf haha but they don’t get it. It’s cockney london accent, we pronouce words slighty differently

Has your accent changed though? I mean can they tell if you’re a londoner or from abroad?

Lol I frankly don’t hear what I sound like, I always get this comment that I’m from the city where I live, I’ve got birmingham a few times, been there just once in my life. Lol. I try my best to Americanise my words with R in them hence the stares lol.

How apt… a friend of mine recently joined Pure Matrimony, apparently it’s veeeryy veerryy.. what’s the word… strict. You have to testify that you pray all your salaah before you can join

Did they actually do this, as in did any engaged/married niqaabi girls state that this is what they did (not show their faces until the guy proposed), or was this more speculation about what they would do in that situation?

Personally, I have a difficult time believing that a guy would propose without seeing the girl’s face. I’ve never seen this happen, even back home. It rather sounds like wishful thinking on the part of the girls.
