ok...ppl......the govt isn't quite stupid.....
they r not doing this for themselves ...but for the pilgrims........
anyone here who's done hajj or umra(not in the off-season)......wud realize tht buildings r quite a necessity now.....
& yes it does look quite ugly.....i haven't seen the one in the pic ...but just saw bldg's around the haram yesterday......& stayed in one of them tooo.....
is quite close n comfy.........but they don look good @ all near the haram.............
but as i said it is a necessity now.......
ppropriate to have buildings in the backdrop, taller than the House of Lord? At least I cannot tolerate anything higher or taller than the Holy Kaba. I suspect there is some kind of conspiracy. Arabs are virtually dumb asses. They cannot understand what games do the devils' advocates play.
Stupid saudis and these wahabis!!! They have no shame in placing the Quran on the floor because, as they claim, Prophet had also done so once upon a time, and feel no shame in literally living above the Holy Kabah including the King whose adjacent castle walls and rooms are high enough to be able to see the Kabbah and people circumambulating about.
I agree that that the government needs to deal with millions of visitors and more hotels need to be constructed to deal with the influx but buildings can be constructed further away from the Haram with a well planned out system to transport visitors to and fro. Perhaps something like a tram or a street car which run frequently.
There are so many solutions but, I agree with manpower, these dumbass arabs lack innovation and a least bit creative mind. And I’ll go as far to say that if it wasn’t for our dear Prophet :saw:, these arabs would have been annihilated either by the jews or some other conquering race. But why even go that far? Pre-Prophet :saw:, these people would have pushed each other into nonexistence.
They could have built these high rise building in say sharah e ibrahim khalil or any other near area, but building so near to harmain is just stupid.
:topic:
PS:This elimination of old low cost buildings and building new 4/5 stars makes cost of pilgramge out of reach of many people , i see this as a planned step wise approach
1-They stopped hujaj coming through sea routes and now this.
Have any one noticed how steep the hajj cost rise is in current years.
I was reading an article in the independant about how the Saudi's have destroyed excessive amounts of islamic history to build these structures :( There have been old houses, wells, forts etc from the time of Rasool saw that have been demolished just for these.
I think it is totally wrong, the whole purpose of going to Mecca and Madina is to re-live everything how is was not how it competing with KL towers or whatever. Its sad
OMG Are these ppl crazy i heard once from i colleague of mine, he told they are going to make a (or 2) tall buildings in saudi (or was it dubai) , and it will be the tallest, i cant remember where he told, dubai or saudi :S but this shouldn’t be done near mecca !
I know this looks like an eye-sore for now but think about how its going to solve housing accomodation issues that they are experiencing. You forget that there are millions of people that visit that city every year and the number grows by the month. Think about 10 or 20 yrs from now, all the visitors, where will they sleep?
Many people come to the conclusion that building tall buildings is Haraam, after reading this hadees. But it is not written as Haraam in Quran or Hadees.
Ok heres a scenario, what if theres an earthquake,or something similar and the tower or part of it falls onto the haram itself?i think its poor planning and short sightedness on part of the arabs.Although there real motives are different, their dumbass beliefs.
If the number of people increase, the only thing that shud be expanding is the haram itself, not the accomodations immediately around it.You cannot take the haram out of the valley, but the accomodations can move out, simple to understand really.Besides,if u want to accomodate the hajis, there are many other places.
Puchi Kuchi,Saudia has 2.2 million square km area, more than twice of Pk,they can find lots of sand dunes other than the historical sites to build these new structures, these actions are based ontheir beliefs that somehow these landmark will compel ppl to commit shirk, that we will start worshipping say the residence of the Prophet:S.
I guess when u are narrow minded urself,u think everyone else is as well.
