…gone through a behavioral interview? What was it like? What was your experience in that?
What were some of the questions they asked?
I had one today. I think I did okay. iA.
I thought she was going to ask me “Describe yourself” -I had prepared for that but it ended up "so what did you do at your xyz job? i was a little surprised but managed.
behavioral questions she asked:
i) tell me a situation where you accomplished a task, what was the result?
ii) How did you deal with a impatient client, customer, and your reaction?
I stayed positive and focused on what I did.
The other dreaded question:
What is your greatest weakness? I got a great idea from one of the threads here
Nyfella, behavioural interviews are targetted to measure your capibility and ability to deal with situations ... Most questions are similar to the ones you mentioned ,for example:
Tell us of a time when you had a strong disagreement with your manager and how did you deal with it
Tell us of a time when you missed a deadline to an important project and how you dealt with it
Say you have two hours to do a sudden presentation on xyz topic , how will you prepare yourself
so yeah, they are very situation based questions and your success revolves around giving to the point answers ... I normally format my answers as following:
Mention the problem
Mention the repercussions if you failed or remained successful at it
Mention your strategy to deal with the problem
Mention your results.
To give a good behavioural interview , you must be extremely prepared , keep examples handy , so you dont have to think of one on the spot.
