Have you gone out with non-desi/pakistani guys/girls?

Re: Have you gone out with non-desi/pakistani guys/girls?

Having dated a lebanese/arab girl, i really had no problems at the beginning. but as time went on and our relationship grew, i noticed that there were a few cultural differences that bothered her. She was afraid our families wouldn't get along due to the difference in language, and even more concerned about having our kids learn arabic. I wasn't really bothered, I figured if we had children, they could learn both languages, as long as they had the same religious beliefs and followed islam.

Even though we're both sunni muslims, she couldn't see past the fact that I wasn't lebanese, and figured her parents wouldn't accept me - which is the reason we broke up.

Even though the experience sucked, I'm still open to marry outside my culture. I would definitely prefer a nice Pakistani larki, but I won't know until we find each other!

thats strange....i come from a Leb background and most Lebs are totally open to marrying a non-leb..in fact most do. perhaps it was more that you werent an arab and not so much that you werent leb?

In general that may be true, but I know other people from her village and they tend to only marry within that village or nearby villages. Come to think of it, her sister even told me that her dad would only allow them to marry lebanese guys, and nothing else.

Whatever, I’m content. Don’t need the drama from her, her dad or her mama! :what:
