he openly called himself ugly several times, i think it was because he hated the fact he was dark and short, he was indian
once he was like to a girl, "i m ugly", and the girl's like "awww, don't say that", and he's like "no, i m serious i m ugly", and yea he looked pretty serious about it
n let me tell you he LOVED white girls!! he always used to say he will only marry a white girl who must be blonde!!
and when girls would ask him "what if your mom never agrees for a different race girl" (his mom was pakistani, dad was indian), then he would say "well i don't mind pathans! (coz they are white-skinned and light haired)"

Yes, I did know a girl who thought she was ugly. It was so unfortunate because I thought she was so pretty and the men loved her. She had low self image.
She underwent plastic surgery too to "fix" things no one could see.

I haven't - I have seen people with self esteem issues but not someone that can't find one positive thing about their appearance.

Hmm nah not really. I have had friends who went into "periods" of low self esteem but i think i have been pretty good at making them come out of it. Nobody is perfect and its not what you are given that makes u pretty or not pretty, its more about how you take care of yrself that does the trick. Anyone and everyone can look better if they are well groomed so nobody should loose heart. I see that often when Allah gives you less in one department he balances it out on some other area so that overall you can manage fine.

honestly i think everyone is beautiful initially BUT some peoples personalities etc make them ugly.

Seriously offcourse i’ve met some people who label themselves ugly but some of my friends are self proclaimed hideous.
A long time ago there was two friends of mine who never left my side through thick and thin. One was a tall chap who had skin so tight to his bald head that it looked like a skull and since he wore false teeth and had a shaved head except a ponytail at the back… he was very menacing.
While my other friend had a terribly burned face and with me and my own Goblin faced looks we made a scary bunch.
Though that said we may not have been the prettiest lads but we sure were menacing and our pride was in our ugliness.

I think we all, or most of us, have had days where we think we look less than average. Ups and downs in self-esteem and attitude, happens to everyone.
It becomes a problem when a person's attitude about themselves is consistently negative.

Most people do not say the word ugly, they say:
I am not attractive. I am not pretty. Or I am just average.
They do not say they are 'ugly'. That implies they want people to say aww! you are not ugly!
