Well, I’ve no interest in dieting etc. And I throw away all those advertisements right in my bin without giving it a second thought.
BUT today hubs met this guy he knows after a week or so…n was amazed to seethat the guy who was unable to survive without a box of medicine everyday…is now not only in good shape but very very active too. AND he has almost convinced my hubby to start this so called healthy diet programme.
I have my doubts as always. And I need some feedback, please.
but seriously what are pros n cons.....hubs wouldn't normally care about these things but he has seen some 'visible' difference.
I'm a bit more cautious as hubs wants to get their heart healthy pack for my FIL who is a heart patient. I don't want him to go ahead but need some good reasons to say so.
help!!!
If it's a diet programm, then there is no harm in trying it but if it's some kind of medicine that you have to take to lose weight then you better do some research on it.
I know someone in Pakistan went through a strict diet program to lose weight and it worked pretty well, MashaAllah!!
Afia i've heard of herbalife. i know a lot of ppl here who have tried some of the products and it seems to be working.
so far i've seen successful cases of weight loss, bp problems etc. i suspect u have to be on it long-term.
no harm in giving it a try.... some things work for a person but for others it might not.
gem....the thing is that it sounds too good to be true ..to me at least.
And the person my hubby knows lives on benefits as he has some serious problem with his spine etc. etc. Yesterday hubs saw him after a week,....n this person actually did push ups to prove how strong he has become. The things he's taking is basically some protein shake, multivitamins and some cod-liver oil capsules....They claim its all herbal
But what I believe is that herbal remedies take time to actually make a difference.....am i wrong..???
I'm just too careful to try anything new on one's body....but then again if its really good with no side effects etc. I don't want to lose the opportunity to get FIL back in good shape.
I tried it, I still have this tea, shakes and medicines that I didnt take afterall. Its quite expensive and its a waste of money, best way to get healthy is just take healthier food and drinks.
Afia, they showed this on Breakfast with Nadia Khan on ARY. She herself took some herbalife supplements to lose weight but than she started having some other issues so she had everything checked out from bloods to other things and what she came across was that all this stuff contained steroids and other things which were causing her more damage than any good. So, she just kept requesting the viewers to stay away from such things. It was kinda scary.
I think healthy eating, exercise, overall a healthy lifestyle should be the key to living good.
When a person is suckered into becoming a sales rep, part of their training is in using the products, eating right, exercising and basically focusing their life on themselves. Because they do this, they can sell more, hey look at ME, look how much this product did for ME. Thats their sales pitch. Of course, ANY diet and exercise plan would have a positive effect. No need to waste your money on "magic" cure-alls especially when they're over-priced and over-marketed.
it has some pills and shakes....i know someone who used it and lost a lot of weight...and now are selling the stuff...
so don,t know about steriods...and stuff that might be in it.
I'm a bit more cautious as hubs wants to get their heart healthy pack for my FIL who is a heart patient. I don't want him to go ahead but need some good reasons to say so.

I don't think I would try any herbal remedies on your father-in-law without first checking with his cardiologist. I have an arrythmia you would be surprised how many supposedly benign medicines and things like caffeine should really be avoided.
