Re: have you ever flown with Turkish Airlines?

Yes, twice.

TA are a professional airline unlike PIA and co. The service was very good and their staff speak multiple languages so I don't think that will be an issue.

Overall, I would put TA on par with Emirates.

Re: have you ever flown with Turkish Airlines?

thank you CEO1 for the info you provided. i'm really encouraged to take TA on my next trip to India in early April.

they have a fantastic round-trip fare of $1130 [Canadian] from Toronto to Bombay/Delhi. They allow one stop over each way. i will iA avail of their free offer

thank you. :)

Re: have you ever flown with Turkish Airlines?

No problem.

That is a pretty good deal! Roughly £600 I think. I am sure Air India or what ever its called would charge far more.

Re: have you ever flown with Turkish Airlines?

no, not really.

the problem is that Air India has stopped flying in and out of Toronto. they did NOT resume service after their last year's strike by pilots.

last year, i flew with Air India from Toronto to Varanasi [via JFK, Delhi, Bombay] and back via the same route and i paid only $1150 [Canadian]...i raked up $ roughly 20 K miles which is enough to receive a FREE round-trip ticket between Bombay and Varanasi via Delhi.

i wish they'll resume service to Canada soon. I prefer India because it flies non-stop from Toronto to Delhi in 14 hours. a great time-saving option indeed.

Re: have you ever flown with Turkish Airlines?

I'm flying with them this Tuesday :)

Flown with them many times and never had any problems.. Nearly always on time (if not early) and the nicest in flight meals I've ever had..

The ground staff at Ataturk Airport are another story..

Re: have you ever flown with Turkish Airlines?

wow! Bon Voyage!!! :) where are you heading to?

yes, that is my concern! changing planes at Ataturk Airport may not be a breeze. well, i've already bought my ticket last night just hours before their sale ended. :)

report back please with your experience at Istanbul airport this time around. thank you and happy and safe journey! :)

Re: have you ever flown with Turkish Airlines?

I've travelled with turkish airlines several times, mainly from scandinavia to karachi/lahore. I find the airline on time, nice, clean and the crew extreamly polite and nice :) Language is not a problem either, they do speak english :)

Last time I travelled, I had one hour at ataturk airport to change the plane. It went just fine :) and I still had time left to enjoy a cup of coffee :)

Have a safe trip! :)

Re: have you ever flown with Turkish Airlines?

My family traveled to Pakistan in April-June 2013.

My sister's family traveled to Pakistan in December 2013 to January 2014. (They upgraded their seats to comfort plus - according to them the best $300 they spent)

No one reported any issues with them though.

Re: have you ever flown with Turkish Airlines?

My husband and I are flying to Pakistan with them in April In Sha Allah. We also decided to do a 3 day stop over in Istanbul, as this is the perfect opportunity. Glad to hear that everyone has had good experiences with TA.

Re: have you ever flown with Turkish Airlines?

We took Turkish Airline from Houston to Istanbul and then to Pakistan. The airline was great...the flight, food, plane everything is great. They don't provide kids food or toys like some other international airlines do.

BUT Istanbul airport is horrible. Way too small for the amount of traffic its receiving. (or maybe Dubai airport has spoiled us.) BUT on our way back the security/boarding process was HORRIBLE. The system was down, so it took us 2 1/2 hours to board...the line of 400+ people...people with babies and kids had to stay in line as well. No information was provided to help us know what was going on. Poeple how boarded early had to wait for everybody else to board....HORRIBLE.

BUT we are flying again with Turkish this friday headed to Pakistan :) Finger crossed that the above won't happened again :)

Re: have you ever flown with Turkish Airlines?

Fly Emirates… like no other… :biggthumb:

Re: have you ever flown with Turkish Airlines?

Turkish Airlines (TA) very well know air company, their staff is educated and have skills of multiple language so there is no language problem. I never fly with them but heard always good remarks of traveler.
Emirates is always top in the list.

Re: have you ever flown with Turkish Airlines?

Istanbul to Tehran than Tehran back to Istanbul then London..

All the flights were on time and the food was lovely.. Flew British Airways for the first leg of the trip from London to Istanbul but the Turkish Airlines flights were better..

As Rabia said the airport can be a problem.. I've not heard many people say good things about the ground staff there..

Re: have you ever flown with Turkish Airlines?

They are okay..I like their food :D but once the weather was bad and the plane was rocking from side to side oh my God.. I still remember that day!!

Re: have you ever flown with Turkish Airlines?

Just returned from Pakistan last night and second time flyer of Turkish airline... and inshAllah last time with this airline.

Cons:
When we checked in here in the US, the checking in guy informed us that we will HAVE to check in our stroller. According to him it was a new TSA rule. I complained a little but thinking who can argue with TSA's rule...I gave up. I was frustrated becuz my toddler is very active and the waiting time wasn't going to be fun. When checked in, we walked to the security and asked the TSA office regarding the rule. She said there was NO such rule and confirmed by asking her manager as well. We walked back to Turkish airline counter and asked for our stroller back, and asked to speak to a manager. Even then the guy try to tell us the stroller was already loaded. We told the manager we don't care and want the stroller back right now. I was very pissed off at the guy who checked us in and complained to the manager about him as well. we did get the stroller back in 15 minutes.

Once boarded, things were fine, until after dinner my husband started to feel nauseated. When he asked for Sprite or 7 up, he was told they didn't have any. He asked for medicine, they didn't have any. He ended up throwing up :(

The connecting flight from Turkey to Karachi/Lahore (we arrived in Karachi but departed from Lahore,) the planes are much smaller, they don't have front TVs just overhead TVs that plays one movie. NOT every entertaining for toddler/children.

On our return fight, from Lahore to Istanbul, the arm rest didn't pull up (like they normally do btw the seats, we pulled the arm rests and let our toddler sleep side ways, but couldn't in this flight.) When we asked if any other seats on the aircraft offered that, they said no. Later when I was walking my toddler to the rest room. I saw that the 4 on the crew members were sleeping the last two rows and guess what...the arm rest were UP. Very upset at this...since I had to carry my toddler the whole time he was sleeping...and he is very healthy mA... I am still in pain from that.

When my husband asked for a blanket, he was informed they were out of blankets...BUT the pilot was about to turn off the AC anyways :O

Flight from Istanbul was fine...I didn't have the first meal but did have the last (before landing,) and my husband didn't have that one. My stomach was really upset once I got home. So I didn't get sick while in Pakistan, but get upset stomach once I return...not cool.

Anyways, we dont' plan to fly with Turkish airline again.

Re: have you ever flown with Turkish Airlines?

ufff…I’m starting to get scared…I was thinking about flying Turkish Airlines for our vacay this summer, it would mean taking a connecting flight from dallas to houston, and then houston to istanbul. Or I could just pay a little bit more and fly direct from dallas on United, Delta, Lufthansa etc…Not sure what to do…I guess it will come down to the price difference :hmmm:

Re: have you ever flown with Turkish Airlines?

The flight from USA to Istanbul isn't that bad and service is much better...but to Pakistan is horrible.

Re: have you ever flown with Turkish Airlines?

yeah. couple of years ago from Edinburgh to istanbul. There was no language barrier whatsoever. In terms of service, they are way up there with emirates etc. However istanbul is quite easily the most dis-organised airport iv gone through

Re: have you ever flown with Turkish Airlines?

At this time from what I have heard the price difference between emirates and turkish is only $100 for Karachi. For $100 I would fly emirates anytime.
