My mom's side has little politics. There obviously is stuff that people don't like, but it has rarely, ever been fought over. All of my mom's side believes in not making huge issues out of stuff and ignoring it - which I think is not the best way to handle it, because people don't exactly get over it, when they ignore stuff. (I would rather have the relationship with my siblings where I can respectfully tell them what is annoying me and vice versa - and we do, to some extent.)

obviously no one likes everything about everyone...but Alhamdulilah there are no major politics per say in my family on both sides

either its not a family or its not desi.......those who are saying theirs is not....may be they aren't that acquainted with the extended famly....
