I’ve had it happen to me as an American in Pakistan, because I am not Muslim. I’ve traveled many places, and watched people treat other people that way just because they are different. I’ve listened to Muslims rant about Jews and “Crusaders” and Hindus. I’ve listened to Sikhs and Hindus and Chinese and Americans and everybody else badmouth Muslims. I’ve listened to men put down women and women put down men.

Everybody finds a group or groups to target, blame, etc. Everybody seems to need an Other to hate.

True that… If only people looked past all the superficial differences they’d see we are all the same deep down…
