Re: Hating those Hindus
as I said, the concept of nationhood and civil laws are touched upon in most religions. But they serve as a guide, not as a static operating manual which cannot adapt to changing environments. Only Islam has that distinction

Re: Hating those Hindus
do you follow internatioanl law in relations with other countries or use
dar-ul-harb concept?
Re: Hating those Hindus
Matsui, its more like detailed guide, but sadly only assumed as manual.
Re: Hating those Hindus
Nothing wrong with an immigration policy like that.
If USA had a similar policy to stop jewish immigration, then there would not be undue jew influence in USA and the world would have been a better place!!
Re: Hating those Hindus
^^
Jews earned their place of admittedly considerable influence by working hard, taking risks, investing money and showing perseverance. Don't begrudge them their success because you cannot acheive the same. As we speak, Pakistani and Indian communities in US and Canada have already surpassed Jews in financial achievment. So according to your racist comment, are we the next?
Re: Hating those Hindus
Though the thread is more than year old and I don’t see this guppy around at all, but would still make comment.
The type of “tolerance” he mentioned is not really “tolerance” but more like economic pressure which barred his father from any “discrimination”.
Now when I see around in Dallas, TX for example, I don’t see Hindus going to Pakistani grocery stores but Pakistanis don’t mind going to Indian (Hindu) stores, what does that tell you? Who is more “tolerant” or discriminates less? You can find ‘vice versa’ examples as well but the notion which is being spread around “Hindus tolerate, Muslims don’t” or “Indians tolerate Pakistanis don’t” is an incorrect one.
His suggestion is entirely based on “economic reason” to remove “hatred/discrimination/in-tolerance” which is wrong basis. People (religious pundits) will find ways to incite hatred one way or the other, look at what happened in Gujrat, Muslims were running major businesses and very likely had mixed clientelle but their shops were burnt down, even neighbors slit neighbors throats so there goes the possibility of spreading “tolerance” by interacting with followers of other religions in social environment.
Re: Hating those Hindus
Why this insecurity?
**
Her last posting abroad was in India as political counsellor, at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi. She created quite a stir towards the end of her tenure there. Before returning to headquarters in Islamabad in 2001 she hosted a private dinner at her place to say goodbye to all her friends in the Indian capital. Among the invitees was her music teacher who sang Raag Aimen (Is it Yaman?) (a devotional song). On her teacher’s insistence Tasnim Aslam also joined her briefly. Indian Press reports saying that the Pakistani diplomat sang Bhajan, raised many eyebrows in Pakistan and created as many ripples in the diplomatic circles. It became a big national story. However, being a tough professional she survived the criticism.

Re: Hating those Hindus
Being in India and belonging to a minority muslim group, I never came across a single incidence when I was made to feel that I was different from any other people or group except the only one incidence at Hyderabad on Feb24 -05 when I was finally departing to Canada for ever. On that day, first time I learnt that I was a muslim. The dirty and communal Airport Staff at Hyderabad tried to harrass me and were not letting me to board the airplane on some pretext of error in my visa documents and suspecting me to be a Pakistani because of my North Indian look. Finally I had to threaten them that I would committ suicide if they don't let me board the plane and I showed them that I was formerly a central government executive. I showed them papers showing my release letter and interview call from a Canadian company. Becauase of my identity I could avert major harrasment. Such dirty people are very rare and I am not going to let these dirty guys unpunished. I am soon going to write to the Indian Home Ministry to lodge a formal complaint.
Re: Hating those Hindus
This thread is ancient.
Let me just say only idiots have blind hatred for anyone. There are "good" and "bad" hindus just as there are the same qualities in muslims. Humanity is a comman thread and human behaviour is not changed by religion. Allah puts the same characteristics in all human beings. While in piety a "good" hindu may not be superior to a muslim, but in human goodness and how they treat other human beings they can easily be better. That is the relevance to this debate.
Blind hatred is fueled by ignorance and lack of intelligence and nothing more.
Re: Hating those Hindus
^^ In that case GS has more than its share of ignorant ones.
Re: Hating those Hindus
I dont entirely agree. The internet tends to accentuate whatever extreme views someone has (I would include myself even)
Most people dont mean some of the harsh things they say on the net.
Of course you do have a small minority of haters who dont have the balls to say a peep in real life who use the computer to vent anger.
