It just goes to show you Pakistanis rule when it comes to bowling, they maybe temporarily down but they will comeback up like always.

:jhanda: Let’s hope they get more and more hat-tricks.

It was in 2 over of kapil I think.Its confusing though.

ST Jayasuriya lbw b Kapil Dev 23 24 0 0
RJ Ratnayake b Kapil Dev 0 6 0 0
CPH Ramanayake b Kapil Dev 0 3 0 0

^

Correct. :)

Issue here is I dont see any wicket on his ball number 9.1.

8.5 ==>Ratnayake
8.6 ==>Ramanayake
9.1 ==>??? (Probably Run out Anurasiri)
9.2 ==>Jayasuriya

How is this hat trick then… ???
Can anyone help…

:frowning: :frowning:

Well, sorry, I don't get your statement but looking at FoW it does makes sense;

6-190 (Ranatunga), 7-191 (Ratnayake), 8-191 (Ramanayake)

I believe there must be a white/no ball give by Dev.

Edited: Holy crap, my theory doesn't makes sense either. Maybe, Dev bowled later or something like that.

Could be like:

  • 8.6---wicket

  • 9.1---wicket

  • 9.2---wicket.

Last two wickets fell on the same score:

(Ramanayake), 9-214 (Anurasiri), 10-214 (Jayasuriya).

Gotcha. :D

6th wicket was taken by Prabhakar..not kapil.. ;(

9.1 ==>>... but 9th wicket is run out....

and your wide ball theory fails because if its wide ball then its not counted as ball no 9.1.

It still doesn make sense.

Total confusion.. :( :(
May be this scorecard is wrong.

Hey, doesn't run out count as a Team's wicket?

No..it wont be counted as Kapil's wicket.

:(

Probably, this match report could clear tension.

LINK

Kapil took four wickets. The close scenerio could be like this: 5-175 (Mahanama), 7-181 (Ratnayake), 8-181 (Jayasuriya). First wicket taken on the last ball of the over and then 2 wickets on the next over’s first two balls.

Otherwise, just be happy Dev got a Hat-trick. :hehe:

You are tlaking of totally different match.
One match was played at Cuttack and otherone in Calcutta.
I think Kapil had hat trick in calcuttaa nd we have been discussing Cuttack . Its so confusing here..

Yeah, I reckon that.

Settle then. :)

Are Baba -I think I have watched that game. I dont recollect exact seen and faintl remember Kapil taking/completing Hat-trick in 2 overs. Here is what Iy think happened :- Mahanama skied the catch and ran for a Single and by the time More took the catch the batsmen had crossed and Ratnayke faced kapil, he got LBW next ball (which was the last ball).

Kapil comes on to bowl his next over and takes Jaysurya on his first ball.
