** Nawaz Sharif’s son paid millions of pounds in taxes to UK

LAHORE: No Sharif family member other than Hasan Nawaz owns Flagship Investments Ltd and the premises being used as the company’s offices are rented, said a Sharif family spokesperson in a press statement.
Issued in reply to an article (Sharifs own property worth billions in London, Daily Times, December 24, 2009), the release points out that Hasan Nawaz “has paid millions of pounds in taxes” to the UK tax authorities as a resident and has even been featured in the Who’s Who of Britain’s Young Business Elite.
The release also states that the offices in Tower Bridge House are of a multinational auditing and accounting firm and do not belong to the company. However, the address for Hasan Nawaz Sharif, as listed in the 2009 edition of the Who’s Who of Britain’s Young Business Elite – a copy of which was attached to the Sharifs’ statement – is indeed ‘Tower Bridge House, St Katherine’s Way, London’, contrary to the spokesman’s claims.
The statement also claims, “a property near Buckingham Palace valued at 4,450,000 pounds has nothing to do with the company”. It may be noted that the said property is still listed on the company website even as this report is being filed.
The statement does not contradict the facts of the published report in any way and concedes that most of the information contained in it already exists in the public domain.

I have no problem with his wealth if it is declared and as dailytimes says its written on their website then i think it is fine and if some one thinks its illegally acquired they have their starting point.
we can envy him for having so much if we want to.
I dont know why dailytimes published it as it was in public domain, investigative journalism is finding whats going on under the carpet.
Also we can call it an irony sons of our leaders choose to pursue their careers abroad.

I think it is the duty of the present government to investigate these assets held by Sharif family in UK and other countries. The stance of the present government is that they want political reconciliation, but as a I am the tax payer and it I suspect it is my money, who gave them the right to do this personal reconciliation with my money.
Sharif family should should not be spared in the name of reconciliation, and answer with detail and proof about the origin of this money. Otherwise they should also be treated as criminals and attempt should be made to bring them to justice!!!

All of them on the top elite, the feudal's, landowners should be accountable to the proper independent agencies in Pakistan.
In the current civilian rule, having "independent" agencies is also the issue because people put in them have favoritism and know where their loyalties lie because they were given that position.

this is not fair, he may have multi million real estate business in UK now, but where did it start from? where he got all the money to start with, sharifs 3 apartments on Park Lane alone worth 10s of millions of Pounds. and these were bought when they first came into power in Pak.

Yes it was. Their lawyers were present through out the case and BB was there for the appeal. Your problem is that you think BB is a god. Shirk at its worst.
I hope you can convince your party to go after Hassan Nawaz and find out how he has been able to make so much money. A case is in order.

I have no objection if you are a member of PP Party, it is nothing embarrasing as you are making it sound. I do sincerely believe the party is a national institution which should be saved from personal interest and black mailing of the leadership to achieve their personal gains.
