Has Warner's thuggish on-field behaviour gone too far?

This is not the first time that he has been guilty of excessive sledging on a cricket pitch.

How he keeps getting away with it is beyond me.

He was right in asking for a translation. If you are abusing someone, you want to makes sure the other guy understands its abuse and not accolades

Re: Has Warner's thuggish on-field behaviour gone too far?

I was watching the game. The throw DID NOT hit Rohits pad. So one extra fun taken. Warner moved towards Rohit aggressively and was clearly shouting at him.

This Hindi translation bit is just a cover for his boorish behavior. When an Aussie doe it, so far it has been euphemistically described as being aggressive. Glad he got fined.

Do you think it’s a good idea… yellow and red cards in cricket!

**“Warner can play, yet he is the most juvenile cricketer I have seen on a cricket field. I don’t care how good he is, if he continues to show all those watching that he doesn’t care, then he must be removed”

This is how Aussies have always played their cricket. On top of that, ACB and their coach justify their behavior. But I think current players have taken it to a whole new level.

Warner is a sissy

Re: Has Warner's thuggish on-field behaviour gone too far?

Just like his game, Warner is aggressive in nature just as Dhawan and Kohli are.

Who will draw a line b/w right sledging and wrong sledging? It was good to see Kohli, Dhawan and others giving it back to Aussies but then they should quit complaining. If you using a same language, you lose the moral ground to complain.

Re: Has Warner's thuggish on-field behaviour gone too far?

^ I partially agree. However, the reason Warner and the Aussies are especially aggressive is they KNOW they will get a slap on the wrist, as worst case.

"The fracas with Rohit was addressed under the same charge, and as a second level one offence was bumped up to the equivalent of a level two. Luckily for Warner, the match referee Andy Pycroft judged the case leniently, handing Warner the minimum penalty applicable under the code.

It was within Pycroft's right to fine Warner more heavily or even suspend him for up to two ODI matches. As has been flagged ahead of next month's World Cup, there is now a growing mood towards interpreting the ICC code more severely, a decision that would leave the likes of Warner and others with far less room to cross the line of acceptability, and make it far less likely that teams will merely "cop the fine" for their sins and go on behaving in the same way"
