Has the war on terror made us safer?

I asked this question some time ago during/after the invasion of Iraq (do a search in WA), several American guppies posted in the affirmative. I was disgusted then and more disgusted now.

Whoever murdered those people in London last Thursday did so despite and maybe because of the war on terror. Whether it was false flag operation (mounting evidence suggests this was likely, see numerous threads on Israel’s complicity) or irate fundamentalists (who had nothing to gain IMO but further weaken their plight) did so despite Afghanistan and Iraq being bombed to bits.

100 000’s innocent people have already been killed for short term wealth and power (oil prices are high and contracts are up for grabs); more are dying as we speak, despite this war on terror.

The war on terror appears to be fuelling the fire, and is in no way getting at the roots of the problem. Whether the root is fundamentalism, or more likely imperialism practised through fear at home and abroad.

Un-vetted and uncensored voices are already being heard suggesting the war on terror has done little but increase the death of innocents:

Amanpour Interrupted On Air; Man Speaks Truth On Iraq

While Christiane Amanpour is discussing the London terror attacks a man passing by breaks in and speaks truth to the camera. The man screams “tell the truth about what happened” and then screams "They’re in Iraq, that’s why it happened…

Link to the previous threads on the same question. Makes interesting reading.

Re: Has the war on terror made us safer?

Quite a few of my Brit colleagues have been saying that to me in the last few days. The English are much more sophisticated and critical in their views about the state and government, unlike the American’s who have a mob-like mentality in supporting anything that comes from their rulers.

Re: Has the war on terror made us safer?

I love Christiane!

She finished her comment about the unpopularity of the Iragi invasion in Britain:

“…the fact of the matter is that the war in Irag is very very unpopular.”

She didn’t let her guest interrupt her thought. Coolio.

Re: Has the war on terror made us safer?

Yes she is man to contend with.

Re: Has the war on terror made us safer?

I suppose this thread has 'STAY CLEAR' written all over it for some.

Shame.

Re: Has the war on terror made us safer?

^ i guess the answer is pretty clear.

Re: Has the war on terror made us safer?

Yup some people are pretty short-sighted, I guess the foam from their mouths obscures vision.

Re: Has the war on terror made us safer?

Yes very very safe so safe that I cancelled my trip...

Re: Has the war on terror made us safer?

shame

Re: Has the war on terror made us safer?

Yes, we are safer now since the war on terror began, on Sep 12th 2001. It is a war not a battle. If the islamic fundo terrorist bases were not ousted in Afghan, if Saddam was not deposed, we would have had more brazen attacks perpetrated by islamic fundos. With casualities mounting much higher than what we have seen to date. Inshallah, we will win, one jihadi corpse at a time. :k:

I say give these islamic terrorists a finger and go on with your lives. Just flew 14K miles over the weekend. El AL has ot be the safest airline in the world. They know how to deal with fundos. :k:

Re: Has the war on terror made us safer?

I hate Amanpour's husband though...James Rubin...Worst person of the Clintoon's regimen...& against Muslims & Pakistan..

Re: Has the war on terror made us safer?

Maybe they don’t feel safe enough to come to your thread? They cannot even tolerate opposing opinions, and just want to shut their eyes and ears to the truth.

Re: Has the war on terror made us safer?

^at least they dont keep on reapeating same thing again and again as u do like a broken record

Re: Has the war on terror made us safer?

Sorry thappie, america doesn't roll over after it's attacked. It hits back, and hits harder. Everyone knew that it would get worse before it gets better/safer. Where we are on that timeline remains to be seen.

Re: Has the war on terror made us safer?

52 London families don't feel any safer.

All the 'hits back' resulted in more innocent deaths on both sides, bravo!

My my everyone feels so much safer...not.

Re: Has the war on terror made us safer?

While it is easy to measure the innocents murdered by Islamo-facists, how can we possibly measure the lives that have been saved? Many cells, groups and plans have been uncovered and plots foiled. I supposed that is one way...

Re: Has the war on terror made us safer?

Every German soldier that died was a victory for the world...

Every Khmer Rouge soldier that died was a victory for the world...

What makes American soldiers different from these two?

Re: Has the war on terror made us safer?

You could spend your time counting the number of Iraqi babies who would have been alive today had it not been for Judeo-Christian-fascists, somewhere in the region of 100,000. But you could argue we couldn't possibly measure the amount of oil that has been saved from the evil clutches of the French and Russians.

Re: Has the war on terror made us safer?

Thap, your selective concern for counting dead Iraqi babies is puzzling. Did we ever count them when Saddam was wiping out shias, marsh arabs or anyone else he didn't like? How about the black babies in Sudan? How about the babies killed in West Pakistan or any of a dozen countries where Islamo-facists kill and maim the innocent? Why do you only want to the dead and oppressed that you try to link to America?
