Has the Angel Gabriel ever appeared again after the time of Muhammad? (SA)

Re: Has the Angel Gabriel ever appeared again after the time of Muhammad? (SA)

Then by the same token you will have to agree that the verse says “gaining the “companionship” of and being “with” the truthful, not about becoming truthful.”
"Gaining the “companionship” of and being “with” the Righteous, not about becoming Righteous. "
"Gaining the “companionship” of and being “with” the Martyrs, not about becoming Martyrs. "
There could only be one translation/meaning of all, we can not translate them differently. So either we believe that verse says that not only will there be no more Prophets, there will be no more Sideqeen (truthful), Shohada (Martyrs), Swaliheen (Righteous) or there will be all of them. It’s either all, or none of the above.

^ huh!? The verse has nothing to do with whether certain categories of people exist or no longer exist... it means that whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger will gain - in heaven - the companionship of the Prophets, Righteous etc.

Re: Has the Angel Gabriel ever appeared again after the time of Muhammad? (SA)

Here is the translation again:

[4:70] And whoso obeys Allah and this Messenger shall be among those on whom Allah has bestowed His blessings - the Prophets, the Truthful, the Martyrs, and the Righteous. And an excellent company are they.

Where does it talk about heaven? Were does it say that “will gain company in Heaven” and not this world. Correct interpretation is that it will be in this world, and in the here after (which is justified by Ahadith). The verses that follow clear up all the misunderstanding. In this verse Allah mentions the company of the righteous. In the verses that follow this verse (translation below), Allah mentions the unrighteous (hypocrites).

[4:71] This grace is from Allah, and Allah suffices as One Who is All-Knowing.
[4:72] O ye who believe! Take your precautions for security, then go forth in separate parties or go forth all together.
[4:73] And among you there is he who tarries behind, and if a misfortune befalls you, he says, ‘Surely, Allah has been gracious to me, since I was not present with them.’
[4:74] But if there comes to you good fortune from Allah, he says, as if there were no love between you and him, ‘Would that I had been with them, then should I have indeed achieved a great success!’

Now even if were to take your interpretation that the verse 4:70 talks about company in Heavens (and not this world), what will the hypocrites from verses 4:73 and 4:74 be doing in heavens?

As a matter of fact, you can read more verses after that, they all talk about things in this world, and not in the here after. I recommend you read the verses that are before and after verse 4:70 and show me how you reached this interpretation.

already posted here by someone else re. the above verse…

Aisha (r) relates that a man came to the Prophet (s) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, indeed you are more beloved to me than my own self, indeed more beloved to me than my family and more than my own son. I was in my house and i remembered you, so i remained patient until i came to you and looked at you. When i pondered over my death and your death, i came to realise that indeed when you enter Paradise you will be among the Prophets, whilst i, if i were to enter Paradise, i fear that i would not see you." So the Prophet (s) did not give him a reply until Gibrail descended with the verse: “And whosoever obeys Allah and the Messenger, they will be in the company of those upon whom Allah has bestowed His grace, of the Prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, the righteous, and how excellent these companions are.”

The hadith is recorded by at-Tabarani (d.360H) in his Mu’jam al-Awsat (1:29:1-2) and Mu’jam as-Saghir (p.12), also Tafsir at-Tabari (5:104) and Tafsir ibn Kathir (1/p.535). It is also related through the Companion Abdullah ibn Abbas.

In his commentary on 4:69, ibn Kathir (d.774H) writes: “Namely, whoever acts according to what Allah has ordered and His Messenger and abandons whatever Allah and His Messenger have forbidden, then surely Allah the Sublime will cause him to reside in the Home of Honour (Paradise) and grant him the companionship of the Prophets…” (Tafsir ibn Kathir 1/p.534)

Likewise, al-Qurtubi (d.671H) wrote in his Tafsir: “Namely, they are with them in one home and one blessing (i.e. Paradise), seeing them and being in their presence.”

As-Suyuti (d.911H) wrote in Tafsir Jalalayn whilst commenting on the words ‘how excellent these companions are’: “Companionship in Paradise, since they will be with them there; seeing them, visiting them and being in their presence.”

I know of another hadith, that says that Ulema of Muslim Ummah will be equal in status to the prophets of bani-israeel. That is exactly what the link above says. You should listen to the 2nd audio clip again: http://www.askislam.com/ram/19840518_12.ram

This Ayat is addressing (All, Whoever or Whoso) obeys Allah and the Messenger; Siddiqun especially Abu bakr; sunni point of view or Ali shia point of view) possess more chance(right) to become Prophet because they were just one level behind rather than anyone else. Siddiqun are also included in those whom Allah is addressing (All,Whoever or Whoso) however we find no one from them got the status of prophethood but you are saying its must (shall be among those) by presenting the Ayat. Similarly the Martyrs(Imam Hussain AS), and the Righteous (Imam Hassan) have the same (Chance)right respectively.

Suppose if Mirza is in the same queue; he is standing far behind. All the saints and pious people during 1400 years should be prophet then; and this process shell not stop.
