…being unable to chase.
First the A team sucessfully made over 300 and won the match.
Then Pakistan nearly snatched victory in the first ODI and
now in Peshawar sucessfully chased and won.

Could it be?

really seems like it
I think so too. Against New zealand pakistan successfully chased 292, and even in New zealand they managed to chase 250 plus and also a near-successful 300 plus chase. So it really seems that they finally got the methodology right!!
A lot of it is down to a more confident top order. Taufeeq and Farhat aren't playing yet they have given us good starts quite regularly in tests and can do so in ODIs as well IMO. Yaasir is now a key player and we no longer look to just Yoyo and Inzi. A mark of the progress we have made.
I think the major change is the openers. our opening was exceptionally poor for a good number of years apart from Saeed Anwar. The boys aren't quite established just yet but I think for once we are (or maybe were) heading in the right direction.
Bringing in Afridi for Farhat might be fine on Pakistani/Asian tracks but is not a long-term solution for tours abroad. And if Farhat is going to be shuffled in and out, it won't do his confidence much good - which is what caused us the opening grief in the first place. Maybe the solution is to ask Farhat to start rolling the arm over more often?
well it was just in late 90s that Pakistan was unable to chase the scores. In the eas of Javed Miandad, Salim Malik, Ijaz Ahmed etc Pakistanis were always knows as the good chasers...
I think we came out of that groove after the rebuilding was started. Younger talent doesnt seem to have any problems with chasing.
good observation. i feel that imran khan always like to bowl second and that we got such results for so long this way that we really didn't know HOW to chase. the youngsters are much better at it and really pace the innings. I mean, chasing 349 and only losing by 5 and chasing 244 on a bowlers' wicket really should say something

i think as long as the players dont think too much about the score the other team made, we can always do it...i mean seriously...jus keep the wickets in hand...and even if the equired rate is 8 or 9 in the last 10, we hav shobby mak, razzler and moin to do it...and ya they really hav leraned how to chase especailly under javed...even when he was coach in 99, the chasing appeared to be goin gr8!
its all in the positive way yasir hameed has approached his game from the word GO....
if u see a target of 250+ and start shivering from the first ball, u definitely will end up losing....
MASHA-ALLAH bolo sab loog takay nazar na lag jaye..! :)
