This might be a wild card, and no one knows for sure what turn of events may take place. But isn’t it possible that ex. Pres. Musharraf may have chosen to come back at this time so close to elections to ensure that he is tried before courts, and in that he would be able to openly talk about the deals that took place under the umbrella of Oath in a civilian setup.
This will net A LOT of our favorite personalities that adorn the tv sets. Perhaps even some that are unknown to us.
Could get very interesting if the Courts stick to constitution and use his arrival to redefine the terms of engagement with ISAF, as well as, domestic issues related directly to Musharraf. Dependant ofcourse on the testimonies that he offers in questions.
I do not think of him or anyone in the public life as being a Saint from any way, shape, or form. But by doing this, he may earn a few points with the public. Public is currently very charged and wants accountability. If he cooperates, his punishment may be lessened. He would probably redeem himself at least in his inner circles if not at a wider scale.
But would we then say that he’s just blaming the previous Govt whence it has now gone?!
Any thoughts on what might happen?
