Has anything changed under the PMLN

The writer raises pertinent questions, has anything changed under Pmln? Other than some shiny projects has the government got anything to show for in other sectors? The infrastructure projects will only serve to increase the amount of debt for the country.

Has anything changed under the PML-N? - The Express Tribune

Re: Has anything changed under the PMLN

Why would anything change? All the promises were called “josh-e-khitabat”, so why expecting change? People did not vote for change, they wanted shiny new toys, shiny projects so that is all they are going to get.

Re: Has anything changed under the PMLN

@desert_bird changed Pakistan Affair under PMLN…

Re: Has anything changed under the PMLN

To answer the question you have to go back to the time where Zardari had left. I think economy is one segment where there is certainly some improvement.

Re: Has anything changed under the PMLN

If oil prices were record time low, there was no global financial crisis and there was Zarb e Azb, even Zardari's government would have shown these 'improvements' in economy.

This PMLN has broken country's back with all time massively high record borrowing on high interest rate for glossy big projects. The gullible people will realise in few years time.

Re: Has anything changed under the PMLN

No they won't, otherwise PMLN wouldn't have gotten these votes in last election.

Re: Has anything changed under the PMLN

is it? ask businessmen. the day PMLN came to power, all kind of business are in nose down drive, except real estate. Look at the ratio of outflow to UAE, UK & India people are running with whatever left.

all the shinny projects are finance by loans and loans. look at the domestic loan portfolio of GOP its threefold increase and the future generations are going to pay for it. Just one example in Ministry of Power the corruption and mismanagement cost 1 trillion RS in last three years so much for good governance. by the time the term of government over in 2018 Pakistan will have to pay over 40% of budget in interest payments, ask the government for real progress in education, health and police system and the result is nill.

PMLN is repeating the same mistakes of 1990s build a big shinny project and cash it for next 10 years, the prime example can be motorway, in the meantime nothing not even a single percentage of progress in education and health.

Re: Has anything changed under the PMLN

oh and PMLN blunders are saved by all time low price of oil and the trend will continue until 2018

secondly saudi-iran row will make sure ample supply of riyals to shore up the finances of state of Pakistan.

Re: Has anything changed under the PMLN

I defintely am basing my opinion on the base of my discussions with businessmen community and they seem much satisfied then they were in 2012 or before

Re: Has anything changed under the PMLN

^ which one? except cement, sugar industry & real estate or yeh don't forget the stock exchange mafia ... i think you don't know about the not much publicized rule of investment in stock exchange, take it out and its white ! see that\s the way dollar dar works !

Re: Has anything changed under the PMLN

Business community of Karachi who are basically benefiting from improved law and order situation?

I wonder what would happen to country's economy if you take out annual $10 -$14 billion remittance from overseas Pakistanis. The country is literally running on loans and remittance.

If only Zardari had thrown some money at Jang/Geo group and various journalists - everything would've looked hunky dory in PPP's time too.

Re: Has anything changed under the PMLN

aw, do I see a change of heart here?

Re: Has anything changed under the PMLN

This generation of politician will not deliver change.

Only the next generation, growing in an aware society may do so.

It takes time - just look at India.

Re: Has anything changed under the PMLN

(Present day) PML-N is much better than PPP (no governance whatsoever seen during their 5-year tenure)

corrupt yeh bhi hein magar difference is yeh kuch kaam bhi karte hein. Present day PPP's sole motto is looto tey phooto!!

Army gets the major credit but I would give PML-N government at least some credit for initiating NAP
Loadshedding is down
Terrorism is down (courtesy of Raheel)
Law & order situation in Karachi has improved
CPEC

Re: Has anything changed under the PMLN

How's initiation of NAP a credit to PMLM, and also Karachi law and order situation?

Re: Has anything changed under the PMLN

Rangers >> answerable to COAS >> answerable to PM (at least in principle)

Re: Has anything changed under the PMLN

There you go! Anyone who knows thing or two about Pakistan politics knows how far this theory is from reality. So let's not give any undue credit.

NAP was Army's idea after APS (so was Zarb e Azb), and it's okay to give them credit.

Re: Has anything changed under the PMLN

Agreed

NS must also get credit for at least trying to improve relations with India

Re: Has anything changed under the PMLN

In 2013 election, there wasn't a single party or leader that proposed war or continuation of bad relations with India, like we see in India for Pakistan.

So the ultimate credit for 'improving relations' also lies somewhere else if the meeting and investigation on Pathankot attack is any indicator.
