What's the budget?
What city are you in?

Re: Has anyone...

Re: Has anyone...

yup I'm in edmonton.... umm I 'm not sure about the budget

Re: Has anyone...

we didn't throw my parents a party, they made it clear that they didn't want one, but my husband found this really nice cabin in nothern ontario, and we sent them there for a week. i thought it was nicer then a party cause my parents work really hard and it was nice for the two of them to just get away.

Re: Has anyone...

Yup -- mostly my uncles and parents' close friends handled it. it was pretty straightforward. at a restaurant. silly speeches, etc.

Re: Has anyone…

Okay I am deff having a party for their 35th anniversary, their 30th anniv was last year and we were all together (bro, bhabhi, dad, mom) for first time in a long time but we didnt have a party or anything, it wuda been sucha nice idea to do something for THEM too (at bro’s valima).. :smack: :bummer:

Re: Has anyone...

It's a really nice idea I think. In a way it makes them feel young again; rejuvenates the marriage and makes them feel special. I noticed it in my parents.

Re: Has anyone…

did u throw them a party? how much did it it if u did?

Re: Has anyone...

A small party would be ideal, maybe just invite close friends and family. That way you wouldn't necessarily have to rent a hall or a large room, you could just invite people to your house, or take them to a restaurant. It still all depends on how much you're willing to fork out.

Re: Has anyone...

^^ Agreed, and make a slide show from old albums/pictures and rent a projector or something.
