I can’t speak for US laws, but in Canada (which has slightly similar banking laws), you don’t even need your SSN/SIN to open a bank account (unless it’s a registered account) let alone send money via Pakremit. Do not provide your SSN to the agent. I’d think twice about providing the information.
I understand that you may need to provide ID verification information, but usually a credit card and other photo ID suffices.
