Has anyone gone on camping? How hard was it and how was your experience? Any special things you need for camping? Did bears visit your camp?

Done that many times and its fun that can not be described although depends on the company u r with.

Beside other things, make sure to take

Axe
First Aid kit
Snake Bite kit

yes...it was a great experience. it brings you closer to nature and appreciate our position in the ecosystem.

you must bring insect/mosquito repellant, rain jacket, jacket with a net-hood, anti-diarrheal medication, non-drowsy antihistamines, swim-gear if you need to go for swimming, dark sun glasses, a hat or a visor, head-lamp/flashlight, dry fruits, a hunting knife etc

many times - its fun when you camp on the beach or near lake shore

UZ it really depends what kind of place are you going camping. There are many sample camping checklists on the web.

Yes! I grew up camping with my family!! We would regularly visit Turner Falls in Oklahoma, as well as various camp grounds in the Texas Hill Country. We would go on about 2-4 trips a year. This is back in the early to mid '80's. There were about 4-5 desi families in our close circle with who would join us. It was awesome! My best (and most embarrassing) memories from childhood!

My mom and the aunties would have these huge degs of khanaa on propane choolas, and the men would be bbq'ing...at night they'd hold mini mushairas or antaksharis around the campfire

Those memories are the few times I saw my parents truly happy with one another

backcountry camper here :snooty: pack my own poop trovel and all. saw a black bear once 20 feet from us on the trail, and almost didnt need the trovel.

it is a lot of fun if you like it outdoors. a lot of things will be inconvenient if you are a finicky person.

I went to a camping trip once and it was not a rough camp, it had showers, laundry everything. I am not camping type of lady prefer to stay in lodges and turn on camp fire at backyard but this time , hub is taking me deep into woods,of course with other family friends.And the bad part is there is vault restroom , no water facility, no electric hook-up, nothing just woods, tent and scenery. Nearest lake is 15 minutes drive, so I am just concerned.

yeah a few times. But its always been at big music festivals so i wasnt really close to nature

Oh wait.. we've been through a power outage which was sort of like camping, only indoors. wouldn't wish that upon my worst enemy
