What did you do? How did you handle it?I may have to leave about 4 weeks before the semester ends.
Talking to the Professor early in the Semester is better or waiting till the Professor knows you a bit?
What are the options if there are any?

File for deferred exams and then re-take them once you're back.

that is taking an "Incomplete" and then taking them after I get back?

Usually, it's best to talk to your profs as much in advance as possible. I see this all the time with my students. Basically, you need to have a good reason for reguesting the leave, and if your professors agree, then you can file a deferred exam request with your programs office.
How your University handles deferred exams may vary. Some will schedule it promptly at the beginning of the next term... others might only allow you to write at the end of the next cycle when the course is offered.

Go wherever u want to..enjoy..come back...fail in all subject....score impossibly low marks...become famous....see how easy?

Thankyou. I am thinking of taking 2 internet based courses and 3 classroom ones...I hope the Professors think its fine or the best scenario would be giving the exams befor hand.

you r right…although i didn’t fail in all subjects(passed in engineering graphics)
and that was because i bunked too many classes to hang out with friends and girlfriend…(so stupid of me!!)
Are you talking about leaving during the semester yet still completing the class? I think its best to tell them in the end but make sure u have a valid reason to do so. I had to stay in the hospital with someone for almost 2 months. Show yr professor from the start that u dun just care about passing the class but also clearing it with a good grade. I know my professor let me take an incomplete. I did however also had to talk to the dean about it. She gave a certain time period to complete the missed work & I could have gotten my grade back. Where as another professor was a dumb a** (mind my language) & told me to not come to school if I can't handle it.
P.S do u know sometimes professors just raise yr grade by one or two numbers or might be willing to work with u at the end of the semester because they can tell which students are serious about their work by just noticing the concerns you might show during the semester. Just make sure yr professor remembers yr face by name & you r all set :) (personal experience)
Also u might wanna reconsider the internet based courses.
