It does look like the seller rushed off to a funeral without making adequate provisions for the outfits to be altered properly.Then the mother and sister tried to do the job quickly and just sent the parcel off.
What I don't understand is...if it was insured (they obviously had the sense/time to do this),then why on earth was the label not attached properly,especially as far as the return details were concerned.I mean were the staff at the Post Office not trained??.Why were the dresses not in a box..or were they?...
The seller should have made sure the mailing details were in order before she went off.I don't know how often her relatives have to post things for her,but the value of the clothes should have been enough to ensure that they were parcelled peoperly.$925 is no mean amount.
IMHO,it is the seller's responsiblity to ensure the outfits reach their destination properly.Yes...mistakes happen,but why should the buyer lose out?..
As Mirch bhai said...it was insured,so refund the buyer and then sort it out with the PO.

@CharmedOne......she didn't rush off to a funeral. She lives in Calgary (according to her own info) and she was in HOuston for 1 week to do an exihibition. funeral for friends mother happened after she reached Calgary I am assuming. So she was scheduled to leave on Thursday 8/11.....I deposited money in account on 10th....I called her from bank and told her funds would be avail the day she is leaving....will she wait to see funds in acct. to actually ok alterations.......she assured me the seamstress lady had the dresses and it would complete by iftar and she would ship me that night or definitely next day before leaving.....it was indeed a lofty goal but she said she has her own manufactering firm so I thought maybe she has access to such services.......Next day at Sehri I emailed and asked if dresses were complete......she sent an email saying alterations are done she would mail today..........then called her in the morning just to follow up to email.........again same response they wud be mailed before her flight.........called again later on in the day and then mom picks up phone and says Ms. Zahid already left and that the alterations were not done to satisfication and had to redone and she would mail in the evening or friday morning and the mom was really talkative and spelled out how great and responsible her daughter was. Called on Friday again and the mom said parcel would be mailed after jummah namaz....again talked at great lenghts about how everyone in houston knows and i could ask around for her reliability and character.....to which I responded I am not doing RISTA, I simply want my clothes...I am not interested in asking about the mom's character.......I then proceeded to email mom and daughter and both sent emails saying DON'T WORRY. I responded back saying I am now nervous and worried because I have sent large sum of money......I emailed mom my address and expressed my fear and asked for tracking #. Later on in the day I get an email from both mom and daughter that the parcel was turned over to another daughter to get the alterations corrected......then Shabnam Zahid emails me saying my sister has parcel she will mail it to me and I'll send it u.......on which I went ballastic....I specifally told Ms. Zahid I don't want the package mailed out of Canada because it becomes an international parcel and very difficult to trace and becomes quite expensive to mail......after my "strong responses" she emailed a tracking #. Immediately she told me it will not come in system and it takes several hours because her mom mails packages all the time and they don't come in system and they have experience with this. Anways.........several hours later info is updated and it says package was accepted in houston and pkg will be deliverd about 8 days later on 8/22. This put my mind to ease temporarily. 5 days later I check status and it says it went to dead letter facility. immediately Ms. Zahid emails me and asks me if I gave correct address and that I gave office address and post office tried to deliver but I gave wrong address? I was infuriated........I KNOW MY ADDRESS......SHE BLAMED ME THAT I DIDN'T RECEIVE PKG AND THAT'S WHY IT WENT BACK.......first of all my local postmaster knows me and i do get my fair share of pkg delivered.....I called united states postal service and they SAID PACKAGE NEVER EVEN LEFT TEXAS......And the LABEL FELL OFF?? According to her its not her fault, but seamstress and post office fault or rather my fault for being so trusting.
I told ms. zahid and her mom I am very apprehensive about buying from new vendow because I was victim of fraud to seller overseas. That is why I constantly make sure if things are done properly.......they said yes, my fears are justified but not everyone is a FRAUD.........of course the amount was a little over $200 not $925. IT HAS BEEN 2 WEEKS SINCE PACKAGE was mailed and due to neglience of seller I am out of substantial money and have no shipment (Eid dresses) in hand. REFUND MY MONEY AT ONCE AND TAKE UP MATTER WITH POST OFFICE. I don't know who on this forum will trust Ms. Zahid again? I repeatedly have pleaded with her to return my money so I could give the money back to my husband and we could use that money for our Eid expenses. I pray that this never happens to anybody else and that Ms. Zahid has some morals. As far as I am concerned this is unethical business and FRAUD. She will wait till post office refunds and then I have to beg her for my money back......I wonder how many more ppl she has done this to......or I hope this is an isoloated incident? How greedy and selfish can you get Ms. Zahid? You are not entitled do that money.......Only YOU AND ALLAH KNOW THE truth about this package and what happened to it.ROTOTYPE......PLS do the right thing and refund buyer's money if she requests again......you can negotiate with her....but if she refuses to listen JUST PUT HER FEARS TO EASE AND REFUND THE MONEY...but in that case the buyer did receive heavy formal (not what she ordered but some merchandise of value) so she has something in hand. I have nothing except frustation!

Thanks for your thought......May Allah give Hidayat to Ms. Zahid....I'm afraid she already spent the money the I gave her........she never offered any other dresses......and will probably wait till post office pays her for insurance and then Allah know when and if she will refund that.......Allah Puchaga zaroor
Vendor/ Designer - home based or otherwise.........Successfully delivering the dresses is ABSOLUTE MUST in a successful transaction......making a beautiful dress is meaningless if i can't delivered to buyer and in a reasonalbe amt. of time......I do realize from pakistan you should offer customer choices....from most expensive and most reliable to ecomonical...because customers' budget and risk taking abilities will vary.....but PLEASE DO LISTEN TO CUSTOMER......don't just do want is best and convenient to you only
Ms. Zahid used cheapest service yet she did remember to insure package......she was protecting herself only.....I never even asked for insurance because Priority Mail is a completely trackable service and it is alot easier to locate package...instead she (or she advised some realtive) used the money for shipping and used almost half of it insure package......I am wondering if she almost expected this blunder to occur. IN the many years I have been receiving package business and personal I have never had a trackable package lost......yes occasionally they have delayed almost always due to bad weather but never have been lost. LISTEN TO THE CUSTOMER (in Ms. Zahids' case) the fool that paid you!

@CharmedOne....I totally agree there is no use crying over spilled milk.....but at least she should have issued me a refund so I could go about my life especially since she is at a greater fault.......the package is insured she is safe.....there was another case of messed up shipping but Prototype did the right thing and issued a refund and is working towards resolution....totally agree things happen that are not to our liking but its the fact that the seller has done very little to put my fears at ease....I don't expect to get the dresses but at least reimburse me and fight it out the shipping or if they do find dresses sell them off.....surely she coudl find buyers for them...I am not charging her for anguish or mental aggravation.

go ahead....I ll have to wait til the package is confirmed that its not delivered to her address...ill get to know by tomorrow I guess.if its not then ill send her money back.....
Its upto her do what ever she likes......still I owe her money and Ill give her back...but she seems so restless. if she can get the money back by posting here and thete then she should do that....

Shabnam Zahid- Eid has come and gone........Return my Money at once! Its time you know you realized your nonsense......remember "what comes around.......goes around". You did absolutely nothing to resolve the problem and are just holding the money. If anybody should compensate me more it should be YOU! and believe me once the complaints go through they will come after the seller (in this case you). If the package was not sealed and labeled properly it is not the US postal service's problem.....it is problem with your service.......nobody forced you to use the worse service possible a non-trackable one at that.......For $900 worth of stuff......it was really careless on your part to send it like the way you did.......You are shameless in your behavior.......you have neither provided replacement dresses nor money back......for what do you think you have right to hold on to money? Lastest unfortunate update is that Ms. Zahid again of course refuses to answer any of my phone calls, emails, or fb messages. She has conveniently blocked me from facebook as if I'm the cheat here.......it was a stressful Eid for me....our Eid budget is with Ms. Zahid.....I hope she had a better Eid than we did........I have asked people to help me and they have not been available to and finally I have asked Allah (SWT) to help me and do JUSTICE! I pray that no one else is cheated the way I was.....I cannot understand why somebody would be so careless? Even if I was sender and I sent a customer clothes worth over ($1000......she supposedly gave me WHOLESALE prices) would wonder why the buyer is so restless? If I was sender/seller and I sent clothes worth that amount of money I would be very restless too......I hope Ms. Zahid you see that other sellers/designers get very restless when parcels sent by them get lost.....maybe it will have some effect and impact on you.......

u didnt tell here y Ive blocked you ....because of your misbehaviour....ur hassments and ur rude messages....I never refused that I wont return your money.....who told you that I am not doing anything or I am not restless as you are. I am trying my level best to get the claim and as soon as I get it ill send it to you....i am constantly in touch with the dead mail centre and the post office,....I am on the ph atleast 2-3 hrs talking to different people.filed a case and trying to find out any clue. mishaps do happens .If I am a cheater then nobody can do anything and why I am writing here?because my neeyat is clear and if the parcel is lost ou are not going to suffer at all. I am payable to you the full amount and I will give you .......this is for sure....so just be patient . I also want it come to an end ...I am also fed up of calling daily here and there......good luck to me and you .. yo must trust me that I owe you the money so Ill return that...its just taking a bit long........

oh wow. I don't know if I was at Hidayah's place I'd be too happy about t his situation. If the package was insured, shanna would definitely get the money from the courier. So not only would she have Hidayah's original 900 dollars but also the money she gets from the courier service. I am sorry but any customer would be this frustrated. I'd say place your order with prototype next time. At least she tries her best to refund. Even her angry customers don't leave her because of her excellent customer service. Way to go! She agreed to refund money to her customer but I guess her customer was too happy with how she handled the situation and told her to make another dress for the same amount. You earn trust like she did. It should serve as an example to all the vendors out there. Not saying its your fault but when you are in business your reputation matters a lot. You need satisfied customers to keep your business going.

@shanna....I highly doubt that the parcel will reach Hidayah now,so please just refund her the money and then sort it out with the post office yourself.It's insured,so there should be no problem for you other than time.
There are a lot of people here who buy online and for the sake of good customer relations please sort it out quickly...

Ms. Zahid if you consider asking for money back for a parcel that never reached me within the united states.......rude behavior or misbehavior then I am absolutely guilty of this.......$925 is not pocket change for vast majority of people even in United States......I DEPOSITED MONEY IN YOUR personal account on August 10th for REadymade outfits that needed some alterations.......and it is now Sept. 6th......I placed the order in the 1st third of Ramadan and now Eid has come and gone and I have nothing but your ARROGANT ATTITUDE....It is for sure that you have the money in hand and I did not receive any parcel........I have spent countless hours trying to get my money.......I have a family and a full time job.......I am sorry I ever accepted your friend request on fb and looked at your picture gallery.......I am quite selective in the dresses I choose for myself and for resale but somehow I liked what I saw in pictures and on skype......without any hassles or negiotations on prices I deposited money after falling for your sales pitches.........you are a fast and smooth talker but you simply do not deliver........if you have an ounce of integrity and you have designing of OVER 27 years surely in this many years you should have learned that sellers/designers have certain responsiblities just like buyers have certain responsibility.......once I agreed to buy the dresses I made payment to your account within 12 hrs..........you did not send any receipt......any invoice........you never kept your word......in more than 3 weeks your credibility has surely suffered....REFUND THE MONEY AND LET ME GET ON WITH MY LIFE.......anybody just has to do a google search and Ms. Zahid they will stay away from you.......much of GS community knows about this fiasco.....there are plenty of designers on this forum.......what are you gaining by dragging this out.......you insured the packaged to cover yourself......now you want to collect from the postal service and make me beg for my money? What goes thru your mind.......perhaps you would like to resign from this business and industry? If you don't know the basics of customer service I honestly wonder how you have survived in this industry for so long? Ms. Zahid.......nobody but Allah knows what your Neeyat is..........but your actions are speaking LOUDLY for themselves.......again you should not have touched the money especially since the order I placed was not a custom one......it was for readymade dresses that needed altered......so until the order reached my hands the transaction was not completed.......it is buyer's responsibility to make payment for goods and sellers responsibility to make sure that goods reach buyer......imagine if I sent a check for dresses I received and the check got lost in mail......how patient would you be? Also there are many buyers you give checks to a seller upon buying a dress......but there are times those checks do not clear.......at that time how patient you would be if this happened to you? You sell to boutique owners.....I wonder how understanding you would be if you sold dresses to a boutique owner and you don't receive payment for 1 month? If this happens to you....I hope you don't become RESTLESS AS I have become....

You are cheating, lying human being Shabnam Zahid! Nobody can anything to you if you cheater? Are you sure about this? How many people have cheated that you are saying this with confidence? You had money despoisted since August 10th.......The package was not found in this amount of time so you really think it will be found? Did you even bother to mail anything? How convenient for you that the label fell off and parcel went straight to dead mail center? You first told me they delivered to my address and I provided wrong address......HOw many times have you played this game? Did your victims believe that the parcel was lost?
Why don't you tell people on forum that you were posting vacation pictures of your family canoeing.......and immediately you decided to block me because I could see this.....You scammed me pure and simple......you showed stuff and skype which you had no intention of mailing.......this is called BAIT AND SWITCH scam......you and your mother were so interested whether I was new at this business or not.....is it because you thought you could simply say that parcel was lost and I would easily accept this......I have spoken to several postal inspectors and they say the route of parcel seems a bit odd.....
I pray to Allah for justice.....May Allah (SWT) protect us from such cheats and scammers.......I insist that the moderators and other designers speak out against such people who have the nerve to say that "if I am cheater nobody can do anything.........People like you need to be taught a lesson!
