Has Ahmed Nadeem given education to his children in Urdu

The senior intellectual Ahmed Nadeem Qassmi in his column “Education in English will finish the Pakistaniat from the child” has criticized the Government’s move to introduce English from the LKG level effective next year. He says English should be from the secondary school level as he himself (and of course including myself) studied when he was a student. He says French, Japanese, German and Arab always give their children education in their mother tongue. Some so called intellectuals have for the last about 15 years raising the slogan of education in mother language. The first such slogan was raised by so called intellectual and so called public leader Hanif Ramay saying that all problems of Punjabies were that they do not give their children education in Punjabi. He raised this slogan after having his children and grand children got education in English medium and in English schools. The examples of Chinese, Japaeses, German etc do not suffix on us. There circumstances and more particularly their intellectuals were different from ours. If their intellectuals said that French medium was more suitable for the nation, they got their own children education in French and in France. Nevertheless world has today changed, Chinese and French who a decade before did not like speaking English despite having good knowledge of English today have started using it commonly and English medium schools and local English channels there are getting popularity. I have lived in Arab States for more than 20 years. Till 1990 the Arab were proud of their language Arabic. They looked towards we the Pakistanis and Indians with a scraistic eyes that we studied English the Jews language. Now for the last about 12-14 years a change has come in them. They are introducing English from the primary level. Those who can afford they are sending their children in English schools. Those who can not afford English schools are getting their children admitted in Pakistani and Indian schools so their children could get English knowledge at par with Pakistani children. I am not talking this just sitting in my drawing room as most of our columnist today do rather I am talking the named fact. These Arab children with Pakistani kids who mostly speak Urdu feel initially uncomfortable but for the sake of English knowledge they remain in Pakistani Indian schools. May I with respect know if learned intellectual Ahmed Nadeem Kassmi himself gave all children and grand children primary education in Urdu and they started English in six class as was in olden days.
