Harvard University's Entrance Exam from 1899. Looks so much like Matric and O Level.

Doesn’t it? No multiple choice at all, and requires long answers. Kind of like Matric exams. O Level does have multiple choice (or it used to), but the many questions do require long verbose answers.

I don’t think Harvard does entrance exams anymore, now it’s all based on high school grades, activities, community contributions, etc. I know schools in Pakistan do it, I wonder if their exams are similar, minus the Latin and Greek.

Olevels does not entirely have MCQs... As far as I remember there were multiple exams for some courses, and one of them was MCQ... For instance, a chemistry paper for Olevels would consists of many papers, such as the MCQ, Theoretical, Objective, Practical (Lab) or an alternate to practical (for testing centers without lab facilities)... I might be forgetting something but then again its been a while since I took them.

I never passed Matric… or as I called it Metric exams. :bummer:

But compared to my UK GNVQ and A levels it was much harder. :cb:
