Oh yeh, I totally agree, its about monies innit, they properly milked it.
Having said that, the HP whore than I am, I still went out and bought 'The tales of Beedle the Bard' and then read it within a 3 hour train journey. I didnt actually get the stories, but its such a pretty book. :(
If I rank all the Harry Potter movies, this is the 2nd best one....Prisoner of Azkaban was the best one....
1 - Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
2 - Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
3 - Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
4 - Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
5 - Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
6 - Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix
it was too short....the book had a lot more content which they could have added.....and the opening act of harry being expelled could have been written in a better way.....
The so called special effects, blowing up a bridge in London...NAFF!
I actually thought the special effects were amongst the best bits of the film. I watched it again yesterday at an IMAX screen and seeing the bridge being destroyed in 3D was really good. Shame only the first 13 minutes were in 3D though.
Two things that annoyed me were Luna finding Harry on the train instead of Tonks and Hermione crying over Ron at every opportunity.
My favourite lines from the film are:
"It's a creepy shop. He's a creepy bloke"
"Farewell." "Aragog!"
Yeh I was told it would have been better at the IMAX. But its LOUDER there and I don't do noise pollution. :)
I was annoyed by lots of it, Snape's non greasy hair for starters, also the death scene was pathetic. Harry is meant to be underneath his cloak and frozen. I don't think it was appropriate for Harry to be just standing there and watching Dumbleydore die.
Its not that they left out lots and lots, its the fact that they misused small details which make a huge difference.
Ok, I promise to stop whining about it now. I really shall stop!
^ I agree that Harry should've been under the cloak and frozen. Though they did make up for it by Snape coming by him and making it look like he was gonna save the day.
I think Harry shouldve realised the locket was fake by Dumbledore's body just as he did in the book. Makes it a lot more frustrating.
Now that we are 6 movies into the saga, I must say the third one has to be my fav of the movies. First of all, Harry looks very cute. Second, I love that his character isn't boring. He screams and yells, he's sentimental and he's bratty and he learns new magic. The movie captures you from the beginning and there's magic in every single scene.
I love the first half of the first movie. Just classic!
ok seriously ya'all, you need to stop whining about how different it was from the book. we all know from the first movie that they will never ever ever make the movies word for word. they simply can't. they have to pick the best bits, and make awesome movies. so for me, right now, it's book, and movies. two separate entities. not the same thing.
i seriously thought for a movie, this was good. yes ofcourse i was in the theaters and i hissed at some points "that never happened in the book!" or "oh dude they totally changed it", but i honestly think this movie made up for a lot of things they missed out. like, mentioning the fact that filch is a squib, or making malfoy's character much more 3D, than it was in the books even. (seriously, never wanted to hug malfoy more). the movie kept me entertained, glued to my seat (i've read the books umpteenth times, heard the audiobooks, but still did not want to go pee because i wanted to see the movie. this is from a person that walked out of LOTR Return of the King). i mean what else can you expect from a movie? i simply loved every minute of the 2 and a half hours. and if you feeeeeeeel like things are missing, then read the books! and don't expect BBC to make mini-series out of it :D
hi guys .. saw it last night- dramatic effects as always superb.. sad as one of the main protagonits dies… nice to see them all grown up and have " human like emotions"…was slow paced… was definitely watchable… as always .. u cant go wrong with a harry putter!!! :k: :k:!!!
