Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
It was really good. BUT, however, I just found it didn’t live up to my expectations.
Seriously, it was mediocre compared to what I read in the books and I felt they could’ve included a whole lot more with more…enthusiasm?
All in all, good movie. Could’ve been better :k:
I have to wait two more days to go watch it! :(
As Potter fans, lets enjoy this as a movie and not as the book or as usual we will be disappointed :-/
Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
^ i know i knowwwwwwwww, i tried too! but i just couldn’t help myself
:hinna:
Please Sweeti don't break my heart I am gonna watch it probably this weekend or next.
Reading this thread before going to the movie scared me into thinking it would be a disappointment. Well, it wasn't. My children and me all enjoyed it.
Yes, things from the book were missing of course, but since it's impossible to put everything in one movie, what else can one expect? And a few changes were made of course.
I do think there could have been more explanation though of why the person who was the Halfblood Prince, was it. It's explained in the book, it had something to do with the mother, I can't exactly remember what, it's been a while now since reading the book. Anyway, in the movie, they don't explain when they reveal who that person is, why it's him. Since it was an important element of the story, they perhaps could have explained it further for people who haven't read the book or people who don't remember the book exactly.
There seemed to be a lot more humour in this movie than in the previous ones. We certainly had a good laugh. It was an enjoyable and interesting movie and all in all, worth watching.
One surprise though after finishing the movie, despite starting at 22.00 it finished after midnight at an hour when there is no more public transport available. Having not enough for a taxi, we had to walk from Rotterdam to Schiedam to get home. It was almost 03.00 when we were home. When I was growing up, there used to be public transport 24 hours a day. In the nighttime and the very early morning hours, you had only once an hour a bus or a tram, but you had something available. Now nothing. Perhaps an idea to check if you can get home with public transport in your area if you watch a movie late in the evening. I really need a lot of sleep now!
Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
I saw it and enjoyed it! I too am glad I had heard some negative feedback, cuz I was prepared.
I really liked what they did with Draco. I would've liked a little more about Voldy's background to have come out in the film. And maybe more stuff with Ron/Hermione. But overall I thought it was good.
The thing with HP6 is that it's all a big set up for HP7. There isn't any resolution. In fact, it's not even until the second half of the book that you're really introduced to the major reason for a lot of what is happening, and all the horcrux stuff. I remember thinking it was an odd narrative when I read it, but I still enjoyed it.
I watched it today and really enjoyed it. Some good laugh out loud moments.
Loved it!!
They left ALOT of stuff out but whatever they did use, was well done.
If I could add only one thing to the movie it would be the memory where voldemort comes back to Hogwarts to ask for the job as DADA teacher. At least we would've had one glimpse of the adult Voldemort.
The teenage Voldemort was extremely creepy..i loved it!
Ginny and Harry plot was retarded. They should've either left it out completely or worked on it a little more.
Ron and Hermione were awesome as usual.
Draco was really good.
Oh Oh did anybody notice the awesome moment when Harry touched the ring, while Dumbledore is finishing his sentence about dark magic leaving its traces....AHHHH...awesome setup for the last movie! That was my fav part of the movie!
I wanna watch it again!
Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
p.s. cormac was so hotttt :jano:
The books are always better than the films. My twins enjoyed the film but not the ending>
When he first appeared on screen, I said to my friend who IS he?! However his creepiness during Slughorn’s dinner put me off.
Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
^ hahaha yeah, but still...hawtyy! xD
Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
DO NOT watch this movie with ppl who have read the books, or they'll make you believe it sucked... They really worked on Malfoy's character this time around, too bad they are running out of movies though...
Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
watch this horror** Red Sands** not so bad
and also watch " THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT"
Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
okay so it was good.. pretty good. the scene where Cormac licks his fingers while looking at Hermione..too funny. BUT WHAT THE HELL they underplayed Dumbledore's death so much they didnt even show a burial. and they missed the whole scene where the centaurs shoot their bows into the sky.. that was one of my favourite parts! and they missed the whole hogwarts battle too
I KNOW. EFF RON. why wouldn’t you get with a hunk like him?
Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
yeahhh ohmg, hagrid was supposed to come to harry and ask what happened and thats when he was supposed to find out about dumbledore's death! i was so gutted at the ending. and omg who plays cormac? what is his name! :O <3
Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
I knowww the death part could have been better.. Like in the book isnt McGonagall all like "oh no dumbledore cant be dead" or something :S It was all too quick.. and the end parts were all squished into a little space of time whereas the beginning dragged on a bit.. thought Remus and Tonks were good.. Bellatrix - scary!! But yeah wasnt too bad :)
Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Dumb movie. Wasted my time
