I got my copy last night. B&N discounted the book and it was fun waiting for the book in the store. Surprisingly, they serviced all the early arrival (one with tickets and group #s) pretty quickly and I got mine before 1:00 am -- I had entered the store after midnight. People were buying 2-3 or even boxes full but B&N was well stocked.

I couldn't be bothered to read the entire book so read the last 100, 150 pages.

i loved it, i totally loved it

yeah there were parts here and there i was like um, ok...and the epilogue was cheesy....but for the most part i loved it

i feel like i've just lost my best friend, i'm so sad its all over :'(

I loved it! Because of all the rumors about the characters dying and stuff, whenever there was a fight in the book, i was soo scared.
The epilogue was a bit disappointing. But it is a children's book so i guess thats what she tried to do.
It was a great read though. The first three chapters were a bit of a drag but starting with the chapter about the seven Potters, it was just a great ride!

[spoiler]well i've read the book ... none of the trio died .... voldy of course is dead ... harry was horcurx ... but i guess voldy was not portrait as the mightiest evil we used to think he was. He made some very childish mistakes in ignorance, which I think no 1 can associate with the caliber of voldemort[/spoiler]

i think d seventh book is badly written even tho it is interestin d first 400 pages just drag on n include harry ron n hermione close to being caught abt 5 times also lots of stuff just springs up n is unexplained like when harry meets dumbledore n d lil baby thing at d bak also deaths r unecessary also all other horcrux r so easy to fing n obvious.

  • i agree with sahar that it’s going to be unsatisfying ending, no matter what. check
  • i want it to be a happy ending. check
  • harry lives, voldy dies.** check**
  • snape is really with voldemort, wrong
  • malfoy’s repented his ways and now is friends with harry, but not chummy. ehen check
  • harry’s family almost get killed, they got saved!
  • but the order and DA helps them. check
  • they feel a little bit better about wizards, but still don’t like them very much. well duddley likes em =/
  • harry meets with the other half of his family finally. sorta check. where are the rest of the potters?
  • remus marries tonks, check :smiley:
  • ron and hermoine are going out together, eeeks yeah :smiley: :dhimpak:
  • and bill and that veela girl are married and have 2 babies already. none of them are werewolfish. check, half a check, check
  • dementors have been eliminated, uncheck
  • and a pact has been signed with the giants.** uncheck**
  • the centaurs are just as elusive, but they do join in the battle with the wizards. check

    so now my question is, where is george? where is luna? where is charlie? and dudley’s family. what is malfoy up to? who is he married to? why did harry get married when he’s only 23? what does he do? what does ron do? ginny and hermoine as house wives??? what did they do with voldy’s body? where is the rest of the DA? is kingsley still the minister? what about teh house elves? centaurs, goblins, dragons? why is ron’s kid called hugo? does harry give out interviews? all these questions demand another book :snooty:

LOL, I have exactly the SAME questions as you do! I really want to know what they did to voldemort’s body. I really hope that they fed it to the three headed dog LOL!
Also, the Dursleys: i think it was really important for her to have told us what happened to them. Where were they taken and what happened once they came out of hiding. I think it would’ve been nice if one of Dudley’s kids had turned out to be a witch/wizard.
I would’ve liked the epilogue to have been more about Harry’s role as a godfather. I think the epilogue would’ve been much better if it wasn’t so far into the future. Something about the rebuilding of the wizarding world etc.

Oh well, no matter how boring the epilogue was, i thought it was touching that one of harry’s son is names Albus Severus. It shows Harry’s respect for Snape. Also, the way harry killed voldemort, so many twists and turns. Nothing was easy for Harry. She made it as fascinating and as full of suspense as possible!

Well the sword of Godric Gryffindor appears to the most couragous of the Gryffindors doesnt it? The sword had appeared to Harry in the chamber of secrets because because he had show great loyalty to Dumbledore and immense courage. Same with Neville. He showed great loyalty and bravey and therefore, he got the sword of Gryffindor. I dont think it matters who had it.

well assuming he had james after the first year of the wedding, and james is maybe 12 now, then harry was really young when he got married =/

as for the sword, dumby said it himself, the sword appears when there is a great need of it, to those who are brave and valiant. neville needed it. and he was being super duper brave.

they come of age at 17, it makes sense that they would get married young...i'm surprised it wasn't sooner...harry's parents were like 21

i just wanted a more fulfilling epilogue with more questions answered and whatnot

otherwise i loved it

well nuffin happened to dem dey were all still alive n livin , as ron told his son nt to marry a pure blood as " grandad weasley wont like it " also i assume victoire is Fleur n Bill’s cousin as she has a french name n wud b nearer to d age of ted lupin.

james potter must b in year 2 as albus is just startin , which u cn tell by readin as he is scared dt he mite b put in slytherin

Amazing book. Absolutely brilliant. The whole thing about how the wands work. Amazing stuff.

I spent 2 days reading it. Its so amazing.

(I think I keep saying the word "Amazing" because I have not seen much sun in the past 2 days)
