Those Christian organizations are just being silly. There has been so much literature written about Magic and the like, that I don’t understand why they’re picking on the HP series? Why don’t they protest against Merlin literature, or is it because those books actually talk about Christianity? If there was ever a fantasy attack on the concept of God, it was in Pullman’s books - the Golden Compass series. I don’t see a hoop-laa over those books.
God, Christianity, religion in general is simply not even mentioned in HP’s works. I don’t get why they’d have a bone to pick with that literature when a good portion of fantasy literature focuses on the magical arts. I’ve been reading fantasy as a kid, and I haven’t started cooking up potions in my living room yet. ![]()
