Some people change the names of the streets and cities and Islamize or desify their names when they talk to you they assume you will know.
For example when I came to USA someone gave me direction to get to a desi store on Rasheeda Blvd. I was thrown off because I was looking for Rasheeda Blvd. Not Reseda Blvd.
. Reseda Blvd . is the right name of the street.
Then in Chicago , Devon street is known as Deewaan Isstreet in desi community.
Then Huntersville is called Shikarpur, Greenville is Haripur.

There is Lucknow in Ontario, Canada as well… named after city of Lucknow (Lakhnaoo), India…
They are buliding Lahore in Virginia too…

oh and in NY, people have alternate names for things as well
like one I remember, Verazano Bridge is called Farzana Bridge

And in here there is a street “shea blvd” and people ususally end up calling it “shia blvd”
They have Shea Stadium of Mets Baseball team in NY … and we used to call it Shia stadium
