Hari chutney

How do you guys make yours? I really like Tahoora’s hari chutney. It tastes different than how we make it but cant tell what differentiates the taste. This is how we make ours.

Fresh dhanya leaves (cilantro), one whole bunch
Poodina leaves (mint), 1/2 a bunch or so
1 medium sized onion, peeled and quartered
Lemon juice, according to taste
salt, fresh green chilles acc to taste

Blend all this in a blender until really fine. I have also added kuta hua anardana at times (anardana=pomegranate seeds) which gives a different taste and texture.

How do you make yours?

Re: Hari chutney

Our recipe is litte bit different like we use tamarind paste instead of lemon and use one or two cloves of garlic in this chutney.

Re: Hari chutney

Add half Tea spoon of Sugar and pinch of red chilli

will taste better

Re: Hari chutney

I keep reading this as Hair Chutney which is okay as long as I think of it as something made for teh hair but when i think of it as something made with hair it makes me :yukh:

Re: Hari chutney

I put cilantro, green chilli peppers and salt in a chopper and then add a tablespoon of this mixture to dahi. Yummy yummy chutney ready in no time.

Re: Hari chutney

Jias, i get scared of putting garlic in any non cooked thing since i have a tendency to add too much  But should try that.

Femme: I know you have a secret to make the hair i mean hari chutney very tasty. Comeone, tell it.

Funguy: we also use it in dahi but i meant making the real green stuff.
PS: can ihave access to your journal, please and pretty please? :halo:

Re: Hari chutney

I posted a recipe some time ago, i'll see if i can dig it up.

k here it is:

Ingredients:

Dhania - 2 big bunches, finely chopped
Garlic - 2 cloves, chopped
Tomatoes - 2 medium sized, otherwise one big one, chopped
hari mirch - not the very hot kind, but mild, chopped
lemon juice of 1 lemon
salt - to taste
You could also add raw mangoes (ambiyaN) finely chopped if they are in season

Throw in blender and puree away

Re: Hari chutney

Our chutney at home includes the following:
Cilantro
Mint
Red Onion (only a small quarter though)
Tomato
Green chillis
pomegranate powder
Salt
and a pinch of garam masala before mixing it into the yogurt.

Re: Hari chutney

PM, please specify the quantity, I have seen many who just say add this this ... and Yummy but when you want to try its no way near that...

Think they want to keep that RAAZ to them self.
