Is it to change jobs? Specially when you have spend five years in an organisation? i certainly feel it is very hard!!!
The time has come when suddenly i have to make that choice, i have been working in the biggest and most renowned organisation in my field for past 5 years, i started as an intern and today i am at a senior position. I was happy and content with my job, infact i was proud to be a part of the organisation, when something in past 2 days changed it all! I love my work and i loved the place where i worked! Honestly it hurts…but i do not want to compromise on a principle that few people like me still hold dear and value.
I am moving to a much smaller organisation (at a better package yes but not as big an organisation) How many of you had to make such a choice in your careers? And how it turned out to be?

It happned to me as well.I moved to a smaller organization with a bigger package after spending 4 yeras at a bigger one. As I already had expereince it turned out that its also easier to be recognized in a smaller company for your efforst than a bigger one"./That siad benefits etc of a smaller comapny may not be as good as a bigger one. But my experience was a good one.
it depends on teh stage in your career, teh field etc so no standard answer,
one of my mentos once told me, dont just focus on what you are running from but what you are running to.
I took a similar step when I went from one of the top cnsulting companies in the world to a small (approx $1B) but influential global company. grew as a professional, had P&L responsibility, launched a brand new global business, and moved on. the experience, the recognition internally and externally has been a goodf thing for my career.
make the most of it..small fish in big pond to big fish in small pond to big fish in big pond..think int hose terms :)
