It comes on GEO at night. Its the most interesting political program on TV these days.
Firstly I just LOVE watching Hamid Mir as the host, the guy is simply awesome and makes the program very interesting, the way he asks questions, making good hearted fun of the interviewees, asking pointed questions but in a chill manner since he’s always got this grin on his face. He also catches these chutkalay and then throws them back at the interviewees. So the program is light hearted even though they discuss all issues.
Compared to ALL others show anchors of political shows (like Fahad, Dr Shahid Hussain and others whose names I’m forgetting), I like Hamid Mir the best :k:
There’s always interesting personalities on his show, and the combo is hilarious.
Yesterday he had Chaudhry Nisar, Sheikh Rasheed and Qazi Hussain as his guests. It was a very enjoyable program
Some funny points by Sheikh Rasheed (Sheeda Tully is one of my favorite Pakistani politicians, from my hometown Rawalpindi, and very colorful personality, his statements are a riot )
Qazi Hussein Ahmad’s jalsa in Nishtar park recently was not a “jalsa” but a “jalsi”
Musharraf is “Syed” Musharraf coz of all he has done for Islam .. (Qazi Hussain Ahmad got quite irritated at this remark of Sh Rasheed’s )
At one point there was a point raised in the program that Pakistan is handing over all the aalims and molvis to America whenever America asks for them…I think Qazi saab was complaining abt that…and Hamid Mir asked Sheikh Rasheed who’s a federal minister these days very innocently “Amreeka ne kabhee kaha k Qazi Hussain Ahmad ko hamaray hawalay kar deyn”
Yeah i like Hamid Mir’s program too. Specially the “smile” that he gives after a dual meaning questions and 2ndly wo jis tarha sai “jaltee per tail chirakta” rehta hai beech beech meen jumley baol ker, thats quite interesting. As soon as he sees that argument is dying, he just say one sentence and there we go !
As far as Sheikh Rasheed is concerned he is a good clown to have but I wont allow his interaction with foreign officials, he is just not the right person to do that. Haan assembly meen ya Pakistan k ander his speeches/comments are treat to watch. Better than many comedians on PTV
On serious note sometimes he do corss the line and give so cheap remarks about people that are simpley unacceptable from a law-maker.
